The Deer Island Sewage Plant, visible all over Boston Harbor, but for us, in The Box, it provided some of the interiors for the NASA-Langley Research Labs in Virginia. Before this plant, Deer Island was home to a prison. The Deer Island Plant at night, a haunting scene. We shot four floors below the parking lot. Don's picture from The Box, with all the pipes, was taken here. The Mysterious Doctor Y, materializing from a bubble of water, in The Box. This was shot in the sub-sub-basement at the Deer Island Sewage Plant in Boston Don, as the Senior Train Conductor in Hachiko, waiting for the call in a very cold holding area. We shot this in Woonsocket, Rhode Island in two sections: in February for a week for Winter scenes, then back for another week in May. Don as Winston, the gardener again, armed with the proper implement of office. I wonder what happened to that hat??? Don as Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Colonial Court, in John and Abigail Adams, America's First Power Couple (WGBH/PBS) This scene was the trial of the Boston Massacre defendants, for whom Adams was the defense attorney. We shot in Salem, MA.
