On Sunday (May 26), the citizens of E! -- The Kardashians, Ice T and Coco, Chelsea Handler -- get some Oscar-level company with the premiere of "Mrs. Eastwood & Company."
While Clint Eastwood's second wife of 16 years, Dina, is at the center of the new reality offering (along with a couple of teenagers and about 30 family pets), Clint will appear in two episodes.
And any excuse to have a Clint Eastwood movie marathon is a good excuse ...
"A Fistful of Dollars" (1964): During a hiatus from his television Western "Rawhide," Eastwood went to Spain to work with director Sergio Leone on what would be the first Man With No Name saga. The rest, as they say, is history.
"Hang 'Em High" (1968): Proving he also could make an effective screen Western in the American style, Eastwood played a wrongful hanging victim saved, deputized ... and filled with vengeance.
"Where Eagles Dare" (1968): »

"Arrested Development " is finally coming back, but how can we expect the resurrected cult comedy to be different now that it's going direct-to-Internet via Netflix streaming? Cast members Will Arnett, Jeffrey Tambor, David Cross, Jessica Walter and Alia Shawkat joined creator Mitchell Hurwitz at the 2012 Nab Show to announce the return of the series to Netflix and answer some audience questions. Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Tony Hale and Michael Cera were not on hand. In the first clip, Hurwitz discusses the imminent future of the cult show that once aired on an actual TV network (Fox). He assures longtime »

Pretty much everything about the revival of "Arrested Development" as a TV series has been unconventional, and Netflix's plan for rolling out new episodes is following suit.
At an appearance Tuesday (April 17) with show creator Mitch Hurwitz and several cast members at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said all 10 episodes of "Arrested's" fourth season will debut on the same day next year (just which day is yet to be determined). Production is scheduled to begin in the summer.
Hurwitz also told the crowd that the decision to release the show that way changed his approach to it. He had been thinking of focusing each episode on a single character, but it's now "becoming more like the old show again," he says.
"There's going to be some mystery sprinkled throughout this [but] instead of watching one a week and try to get ahead of it, »

Really taking this whole “Arrested Development revival” gag to the next level, yesterday’s Netflix event at Las Vegas’ National Association of Broadcasters convention featured an appearance from creator Mitch Hurwitz and several members of the cast —Will Arnett, David Cross, Alia Shawkat, Jeffrey Tambor, and Jessica Walter—in which they avowed that, yes, they are really reviving Arrested Development after years of vague promises and reversals. And to make it up to you for that frustrating prolonged wait, they’re taking away any further delays (other than the actual production this summer) by debuting all 10 episodes on Netflix »

A Q&A session with Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos at the upcoming Nab Show will feature Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz and several cast members of the cult Fox comedy series, which is producing a new season for the streaming giant. Scheduled to appear are Will Arnett, Jeffrey Tambor, David Cross, Jessica Walter and Alia Shawkat. I’ve learned that none of the Arrested Development actors have deals to return yet but negotiations are going smoothly and filming is expected to begin in the summer. As for the absence of stars Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Michael Cera and Tony Hale, sources chalk it up to unavailability, not to any any issues with their negotiations. Coincidentally, it was at the most recent Arrested Development reunion at The New Yorker Festival in October where Hurwitz announced the Arrested Development TV return. Also scheduled to appear during Sarandos’ Nab »

Simon Moore reviews the third episode of the Napoleon Dynamite animated series...
They say you should never meet your heroes. Especially if your heroes happen to be a rare crossbreed of lions and tigers that you happen to believe possess mystical powers. Bad luck for Napoleon, the owner of many sketchbooks bursting with illustrations on this subject matter. Besides hawks and sweet bicycle jumps, ligers are his yardstick of awesome. So how will he cope with meeting the real thing?
Not very well, as it turns out. He lands a job at the liger sanctuary as a way of earning money to pay for Grandma Carlinda’s new glasses, after he’d crushed them in a futile attempt to sneeze, fart, burp and yawn at the same time. Yes, you read that sentence right, do not adjust your medication. That’s just the sort of situation that crops up on »

Corman's World: Exploits Of A Hollywood Rebel
In 2009, producer-director Roger Corman was given an Honorary Academy Award. He'd been making movies since the mid-1950s, starting with titles such as Monster From The Ocean Floor right up to modern schlock like Sharktopus.
Obviously, the Oscar wasn't for these contributions to the art of cinema, rather for what Corman achieved away from the camera. Corman's studios provided a crash course in film-making for hundreds of young hopefuls. His films were made fast and cheap, and if he took you under his wing you wouldn't get rich but you'd soon know how to make a movie – one that played to the enthusiastic drive-in and grindhouse circuits. His companies were officially studios, unofficially they were film schools, and the list of graduates is stunning: Jack Nicholson, James Cameron, Peter Fonda, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Jonathan Demme, Ron Howard, Robert De Niro and hundreds of others. »

"Mad Men" is finally back (Sun., March 25, 9 p.m. Et on AMC) -- with the anti-Mom of the Year Betty Draper -- so it's time to raise our glasses!
While you're sipping on highballs or Moscow Mules, check out HuffPost TV's salute to some of the meanest moms on TV. Of course January Jones' slap-happy Betty Draper made the cut and she's joined by moms spanning centuries, from "Downton Abbey's" Dowager Countess to George's mom on "Seinfeld" to not one, but two Jessica Walter characters -- it was really hard picking just one Lucille Bluth moment.
Bed-ridden cranky women, a tough-as-nails lawyer and many socialites round out some of our favorite evil matriarchs.

Angie Dickinson has the credentials to read television's female law enforcers their rights, having been one of the earliest.
The veteran actress went from star of such movies as the original "Ocean's 11" and "The Killers" to home-screen staple in "Police Woman," NBC's "Police Story" spinoff that ran four seasons (1974-78). The show came at a time when women typically weren't drama-series leads ... and when told that other actresses cite her as someone who opened gates for them, Dickinson replies to Zap2it, "It's nice to be a standard bearer."
Ironically, she might not have been the performer who would become Sgt. Suzanne "Pepper" Anderson. "I happen to know that they wanted Karen Black for the 'Police Story' episode," Dickinson reports, "and as we were shooting that, they said, 'This could make a series.' They didn't have a separate series in mind at all when we started. »

The animated spy series is a class act in its own right – but it also serves as a tribute to and cast reunion for Arrested Development
TV has a long-running love affair with spies. Spooks ran amok for 10 seasons, Alias for five; Simon Templar and Jason King ruled TV in previous eras. Tonight sees the return to British screens of FX's animated spy comedy Archer, less heralded than other Us imports but one of the funniest shows on air. Set in international spy agency Isis, it focuses on Sterling Archer, a brilliant field agent with crippling mommy issues that are exacerbated by his mother Malory's role as head of the agency. A class act in its own right, it also serves as both tribute to and cast reunion for Arrested Development.
Running for three seasons from 2003-2006 Arrested Development was one of the most important comedies of the past 10 years. »

One very brilliant Human Being decided to create the ultimate mashup and gifted the Internet with the perfect "Community" meets "Arrested Development" video.
The YouTube user's description says, "In 2006 Fox ended a cult comedy sitcom's run in its third season. In 2011 NBC 'benched' a very creative and smart cult comedy sitcom. Let's hope history does not repeat itself."
NBC benched "Community" when they announced their midseason schedule back in November, replacing it with "30 Rock." While in the 8 p.m. Est timeslot, "30 Rock" pulled in series low numbers, with Nielsen ratings in the low 3 million area, proving it wasn't a "Community" problem, it's a larger timeslot problem.
Meanwhile, "Arrested Development" is making its own comeback -- on Netflix. The entire original cast of the quirky comedy -- Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Jeffrey Tambor, David Cross, Michael Cera, Portia De Rossi, Tony Hale, Alia Shawkat and Jessica Walter -- will be back »

Beware of the evil temptress that is Pam (Amber Nash) because she is such a great lay that you will forget about all of your responsibilities. But then again, we’re talking about Sterling Archer (H. Jon Benjamin) here.
Who knew a night of Green Russians and strip clubs–the only way to grieve–after a co-worker’s wake–would lead to a hot, steamy sex, which Archer claims to be the best he’s ever had? Considering the conquests he’s had over the years, including Lana (Aisha Tyler), that was a bold statement; so when he opened his door to find Pam sitting on the toilet making bread, well that’s the kind of horrifying reveal that lets you know this was going to be a memorable episode.
The hook-ups on Archer rarely ever surprise (at this point), but this is one of those rare times when it shocked you at first, »

Chicago – Fans of the hilarious animated spy show “Archer” will be happy to know that laughs won’t stop at the end of season three. FX has officially signed the show for a fourth season, as well as an overall productin deal with show creators Adam Reed and Matt Thompson and their production studio, Floyd County Productions.
The decision to renew “Archer” was likely made a lot easier for FX with the growing numbers the show has seen.
