New Release Dates for Dracula, Transcendence, Blended, The Purge, State 194, When The Game Stands Tall and Heaven Is For Real

Here is a slew of new release dates for the following films: Dracula - Universal's Dracula origin story directed by Gary Shore and starring Luke Evans (The Raven) will open August 8, 2014. Transcendence - Cinematographer Wally Pfister's directorial debut starring Johnny Depp and Morgan Freeman has been moved up one week to April 18, 2014. Blended - The tentatively-titled new rom-com with Adam Sandler and (possibly) Drew Barrymore will open May 23, 2014. The Purge - The violent speculative-thriller written and directed by James DeMonaco and starring Ethan Hawke (Sinister) and Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) will open June 7th. State 194 - Dan Setton's documentary on Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad will open May 17th. When the Game Stands Tall - Director Thomas Carter’s (Coach Carter) upcoming high school football drama starring James Caviezel (Person of Interest) and Michael Chiklis (The Shield) will open September 19, 2014. Heaven Is for Real Announces Open Casting Call in Los Angeles

Sony Pictures is conducting open casting calls this week in Southern California for the leading role of 'Colton Burpo' in their upcoming film adaptation of the best-selling book Heaven Is for Real. The book was written by Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent and released in November 2010, where it debuted at #3 on the New York Times bestseller list. The film will be shot in late Spring/early Summer.

The casting calls are specifically looking for a boy who can play the lead character, Colton Burpo, a Caucasian, blonde haired, blue eyed boy 4 to 5 years old with a lovely singing voice. No prior acting experience is required.

Those interested can choose between 1 of 2 days to participate in Southern California - Saturday, April 27th from 11:30am-2:30pm at the Palm Garden Hotel (495 N. Ventu Park Road, Thousand Oaks, CA 91320 - free parking at hotel) Or Sunday, April 28th from 12pm-3pm »

Vince Vaughn Sets Up A Family Comedy At Universal, Goes On 'Business Trip' Too

At one point, Vince Vaughn was really trying to line up some serious movies. In 2012, his name got linked to the thriller "The Risk Agent," the Randall Wallace-penned "Gunslingers" and the action flick "Triple Time." But maybe folks really just want to see him quip and be a hilarious jackass, because that's what he does so well, and it seems the actor is realizing this too. In the past week, Vaughn has lined up an untitled family comedy at Universal, and "Business Trip" with production companies New Regency and Escape Artist. Plot details on the former aren't being revealed just yet but it's being penned by Brian Gatewood and Alex Tanaka, the dudes behind David Gordon Green's "The Sitter," so you can probably guess what to expect. Brit Kelly Reilly Cast As Lead In ‘Heaven Is For Real’

There was another outstanding performance after Denzel Washington in Flight, and it was British actress Kelly Reilly who excelled in her role as fellow addict Nicole, fighting against unwanted desires. It’s now been announced that she’s due to take the lead in the upcoming Sony flick Heaven Is For Real.

The film focuses on Kelly’s character, who plays the mother of a boy who wakes up after an operation and claims to have been to heaven. It’s based on the best-selling book by Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent called Heaven Is For Real: A Little Boy’s Astounding Story of His Trip To Heaven And Back. The underrated Greg Kinnear has also been cast as the boy’s father and her husband, with directing duties being taken on by Randall Wallace of Braveheart fame.

We’ve got some new casting news: Kelly Reilly (Flight) has landed the female lead role in Heaven Is for Real, based on the book with the same name, about a young boy named Colton Burpo who comes out of an emergency operation with compelling stories of a visit to heaven.  Greg Kinnear will also star as Reilly’s husband in the film. Model and actress Kate Upton (The Three Stooges) is in talks to join Nick Cassavetes’s The Other Woman, which will also star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann. Tony Goldwyn (The Mechanic) has just joined director Neil Burger’s film Divergent, which is a futuristic thriller based on author Veronica Roth’s New York Times bestseller.  Divergent will also star Shailene Woodley (The Descendants), Theo James (Underworld: Awakening), and Kate Winslet. In the first book, when a porthole to another dimension opens up over Antarctica, hostile aliens (known as the Jam) start pouring through and a special combat force is created to force the Jam back through the porthole. Greg Kinnear is in negotiations to star in Heaven Is for Real, Sony Pictures’ adaptation of the best-selling true-life book by Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent.
