H.M. Walker was born on June 27, 1878 in West Middlebury, Ohio, USA as Harley M. Walker. He is known for his work on Pardon Us (1931), Safety Last! (1923) and They Just Had to Get Married (1932). He was married to Virginia Grose. He died on June 23, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

Although closely associated with Harold Lloyd through Why Worry? (1923), expert gag man and writer H.M. "Beany" Walker was a Hal Roach loyalist and remained with his studio after the superstar comedian left for his deal with Paramount in the mid-1920s. A heavy smoker, he died of a heart attack in 1937, just shy of his 52nd birthday..
He wrote the intertitles for silent films and then the spoken dialog for the "talkies.".
