Sony Pictures has released online the first trailer for the long-awaited 23rd James Bond movie, Skyfall, in advance of its first public screening at the Cannes Film Festival later today. The new trailer includes only a minute of footage from Skyfall, but it has everything we've come to expect from 007 movies — action, intrigue, beautiful women, exotic locations, and more action — without spoiling the plot of the movie or even clearly showing Bond's (Daniel Craig) latest nemesis, Silva (Javier Bardem).

Australian filmmaker Justin Kurzel has signed on to follow up his powerful feature debut Snowtown (a.k.a. The Snowtown Murders) with an adaptation of John le Carré's 2010 spy novel Our Kind of Traitor, which centres on a British couple who become mixed up with a Russian oligarch and money launderer as he attempts to defect to the west. The screenplay has been written by Hossein Amini - who recently adapted James Sallis' Drive for Nicolas Winding Refn, in addition to penning the scripts for the upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman and 47 Ronin - and filming is expected to commence in the autumn.

The upcoming James Bond adventure Skyfall has been in production since November, though it's never too late to add a new cast member. Greek actress Tonia Sotiropoulou announced through her Facebook page today that she will play Daniel Craig's girlfriend. Take a look at her message.
"Dear friends I officially announce I got a part in J. Bond new film!!! Turkey here I come! Thank u all for you love and support! This is officially the happiest day of my life bitches!!!!"
The actress will start shooting April 22 in Istanbul, Turkey, where she will film two or three scenes over five days. It is said that she also auditioned for the major role of Severine, which French actress Berenice Marlohe eventually won.
