She acted in Anton Chekhov's play, "The Seagull," in a Royal Shakespeare Company production and at the Barbican Theatre in London, England with Penelope Wilton, Nigel Terry, John Light, Richard Pasco, and Richard Johnson in the cast. Adrian Noble was director.

I did have one very sweet proposal of marriage. I was in the video shop near where I live and this guy standing next to me said, "Hey, I recognize you. Will you marry me?" I asked him what video he'd chosen and he said something like Speed II (Speed 2: Cruise Control
(1997)), so I said, "If you don't mind, I won't marry you."
Moved to Scotland from South Africa at the age of ten. First, she was a South African child, then a Scottish adolescent, and finally an English teenager after her family planted itself in London.
