‘Agents of Shield’s Henry Simmons on How Life Aboard the Lighthouse May Push Mack 'Past the Edge' (Exclusive)
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are lost in space -- and the situation is only getting more dire.

After a mysterious force transported the agents to a dystopian future -- where Earth has been destroyed and its remaining citizens live out a bleak existence under Kree rule on a massive space station known as The Lighthouse -- in the season five premiere, the team has quickly learned that staying alive in this latest reality might be their most dangerous mission yet.

“It’s incredibly new, a new domain where there are entities and people that are much more powerful than us, and we don’t have our resources,” series star Henry Simmons, who plays S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Alphonso “Mack” Mackenzie, tells Et. “We have to figure out how to survive. Usually it’s just fighting people and beating back bad guys, but now we have to survive.”

Lionsgate Reportedly Dumped Its ‘Gotti’ Biopic Last Minute Because of Release Plan Squabbles

Lionsgate Reportedly Dumped Its ‘Gotti’ Biopic Last Minute Because of Release Plan Squabbles
After being dropped by distributor Lionsgate just ten days before its set release, the seemingly ill-fated John Travolta-starring John Gotti biopic might get a new lease on life, at least if its producers’ big gamble pays off. A new report from Deadline holds that the film left Lionsgate because of release plan squabbles — it was set to be released by Lionsgate Premiere (which specializes in specialty and limited releases), and its producers were eager to take it to a wide release. The outlet reports that “there was a buy-back clause in the distribution agreement, so the producers exercised it. It was never a matter of Lionsgate dumping the film.”

Still, that’s a hell of a last minute change to make, especially when the film’s release date and plan have been locked for months now. Deadline adds that an outside investor has back the film “so that it

A source revealed to the outlet that the film has also been sold back to its producers, Emmett/Furla/Oasis, which produced the film alongside Highland Film Group and Fiore Films.

The Devil’S Candy – Review

Review by Jake Billingsley

Fire is commonly associated with passion and assertive action in philosophy; Sean Byrne’s latest feature The Devil’S Candy has plenty of the three. In only his second feature film, Byrne paints traditional horror elements through a satanic platform. Some of these elements provide a timeless effect and some have been dragged through the horror landscape for far too long.

The film’s core action takes place in a rural Texas landscape. It is the cliche story of a family moving into a new house that brings strange consequences. Have we traveled across this landscape before? Jesse Hellman, played by Ethan Embry, is the artist within the film; Embry gives a fine performance. Hellman is the type of guy you look at and imagine to be a rockstar, but on the other end his facial composure is comparable to Jesus. He paints butterflies for the

Gotti trailer, featuring John Travolta

Tony Sokol Sep 27, 2017

John Travolta stars in Gotti, for which a new trailer has just been released

“Let me tell you, New York City is the greatest city in the world. I was a kid in these streets and I made it the top,” John Travolta says as John Gotti in the trailer for the upcoming biopic Gotti. If anyone could claim “My Way” as a theme song it was the Dapper Don of the Gambino Crime Family.

Gotti “made his bones doing a piece of work for Don Carlo Gambino,” the trailer tells us. From that day on, the Teflon Don was a man on the rise. Gotti has a similar look to Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas. The film will tell Gotti’s story over three decades, but will largely focus on the years after he was made boss by killing the top guy and then assuming his place.

John Travolta & Kelly Preston in Official Trailer for Crime Biopic 'Gotti'

"I will build something that nobody can destroy." Lionsgate has released the first official trailer for a new crime thriller titled Gotti, spanning three decades telling the story of legendary crime boss John Gotti Sr., as played by John Travolta. The story focuses on Gotti's rise to power in New York City, as well as his wife Victoria Gotti, played by Kelly Preston, along with his son John Gotti Jr., played by Spencer Lofranco. The full cast includes Stacy Keach, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Megan Leonard, Lydia Hull, William DeMeo, Tyler Jon Olson, Leo Rossi, and Ella Bleu Travolta. The pitch for this makes it seem like it wants to be the next Godfather, but the footage does not live up to that comparison. Travolta actually looks good in the role, but the rest of it doesn't seem that impressive to me, yet another typical mob crime biopic. Here's the

Review — ‘The Devil’s Candy’ Blasts Genre Thrills and the Devil’s Music Into Your Soul

‘The Devil’s Candy’ Blasts Genre Thrills and the Devil’s Music Into Your Heathen SoulThe director of ‘The Loved Ones’ returns with another intense and suspenseful thriller.

Writer/director Sean Byrne’s debut feature, The Loved Ones, blew festival audiences (including us) away back in 2009 with thrills and suspense born from seeing a character we truly cared about fighting for his life against increasingly twisted and violent odds. It took three years before it actually opened in the Us, but it was worth the wait. Now Byrne’s equally intense follow-up film is finally being released… after premiering at film fests nearly two years ago.

Once again though, The Devil’s Candy is a blistering, intimate, heavy metal-tinged horror/thriller worth waiting for as it drops a loving family into a devilish nightmare where each violent chord brings them closer to a grim and grisly fate.

Interview: Writer / Director Sean Byrne on Facing His Fears with The Devil’S Candy

Out in limited theaters and on VOD this Friday from IFC Midnight is The Devil’s Candy, which was written and directed by Sean Byrne (the creative force behind the equally fantastic thriller The Loved Ones). The film stars Ethan Embry as an embattled father who will stop at nothing to keep his family—and particularly his daughter, Zooey (Kiara Glasco)—safe from devilish forces in the form of a possessed man named Ray (portrayed by the always engaging Pruitt Taylor Vince).

Daily Dead recently had the chance to speak with Byrne about how his latest film became a way to explore his own fears and insecurities—both personally and professionally—and how he enjoys trying to subvert horror fans' expectations whenever he takes the directorial reins. Byrne also discussed his thoughts on celebrating heavy metal culture for The Devil’s Candy, collaborating with his cast, and more.
