The Shondaland star explained that saying “yes” to Annalise Keating was “a no brainer,” but not everyone on the panel was as loose-lipped. Even after a jaw-dropping finale on “Htgawm,” writer-creator Peter Nowalk kept any information about the ABC show’s impending second season under wraps.
“I don’t like to spoil anything. Obviously the fun of the show is you don’t know what’s coming,” he said.

As such, the drama’s cast is at a loss to so much as tease what to expect, wholly unaware of what made the final cut, what didn’t , and what might have been masterfully edited into something markedly different from what was filmed.

If Scandal's latest episode left you feeling completely gutted, you're not alone. On Thursday night, the addictive ABC series known for its outlandish twists - rigged elections! government conspiracies! an online bidding war for the president's mistress! - grounded the drama in something very real: racism. Titled "The Lawn Chair," the episode took on the shooting of an unarmed black teen by a white police officer: an allusion to the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson. When the boy's father, played beautifully by Courtney B. Vance, rushed to the crime scene, guarding his son's body with a shot gun, »

Spoiler Alert: Do not read unless you’ve seen the Feb. 26 season finale of “How to Get Away With Murder.”
Lila Stangard’s murderer has finally been revealed: Frank (Charlie Weber) was the culprit.
Revealed in a series of flashbacks during the season ender, Frank was ordered by the now-dead Sam Keating (Tom Verica) to kill Lila. But this is “How to Get Away With Murder,” so when one mystery is solved, another one arises. The latest victim? Rebecca (Katie Findlay). After the Keating Five spent most of the finale questioning Rebecca, the episode ended with Frank and Annalise (Viola Davis) finding Rebecca’s body under the staircase in Annalise’s basement.
Here, Davis and Weber answer some burning questions about the finale:
When did you find out that Frank killed Lila?
Davis: We all found out when we did the read-through, and everyone just gasped. Charlie was so happy — he enjoys playing the villain. »

"Best Christmas Ever" plodded along in typical Htgawm fashion: We learned ever more about the darkness to which Annalise (Viola Davis) regularly succumbs, our plucky law students continued to lose the plot and we once again questioned just what it is that makes Frank (Charlie Weber) so deeply loyal to Annalise. Marcia Gay Harden is coming to shake things up on How to Get Away With Murder, but don't call her the villain. The Oscar winner plays Hannah Keating, sister to Annalise Keating's (Viola Davis) dead husband Sam Keating (Tom Verica). Only Hannah doesn't know he's dead…yet. When she comes to town, well, it's going to be hard to keep a secret. "I don't know if you know yet, she's a psychiatrist, so she kind of has a way of seeing through people, their behaviors and idiosyncrasies, and she's a truth-seeker. She's not someone who's comfortable with secrets," Harden tells E! Online. "She's come down there to put the pieces together—'Something is rotten in the »
Tom Verica has gotten very good at playing dead. As murder victim Sam Keating on “How to Get Away With Murder,” he’s at the center of the whodunnit. Luckily, he’s got another day job: as producing director of yet another of Shondaland’s hit shows, “Scandal.”
Do you prefer acting or directing?
Yes. (Laughs.) I started my career as an actor, but I’ve been a director for 15 years now. That’s where my passion has been lately, because I can have far more input and say in how we can put a story together. But my initial foray into acting, my passion for that, I don’t think that ever goes away.
How is Viola Davis as a scene partner?
She’s Ok. If you have to work with someone, she’ll do. (Laughs.) Seriously, she’s fantastic. You have to come with your “A” game right away. »

Sam Keating’s body may be missing, but his baggage is just arriving — in the form of Marcia Gay Harden.
In the winter premiere of “How to Get Away With Murder,” Harden was revealed to be the sister of Sam (Tom Verica), aka the sister-in-law of Annalise (Viola Davis), Hannah Keating. And Annalise has finally met her match.
“First of all, it’s a woman who just never really embraced her in the family,” Davis told Variety along with a small group of reporters on the “Htgawm” set. “I know so many relationships like that, especially interracial relationships….You’ll see that relationship be very contentious because it’s a woman that just never accepted me. She never saw me. She loved Sam’s ex-wife much more than she loved me.”
(Davis says there are no plans to cast Sam’s ex-wife at this point in the series.)
She continued, »
