Tom has an illustrious career that spans thirty years in film, theatre and television. He starred for three seasons as "Jack Pryor" on American Dreams, NBC's critically acclaimed television drama, in which the Wall Street Journal declared the "versatile actor's performance is a marvel." Tom's diverse feature film credits include Zodiac helmed by David Fincher, Flags Of Our Fathers directed by Clint Eastwood, Murder By Numbers, Red Dragon, Father's Day, and Die Hard II. Among his vast television appearances, Tom has had series regular roles on The Nine, The Naked Truth co-starring Tea Leoni, LA Law, Central Park West and HBO's Emmy-winning mini-series From The Earth To The Moon, in which he portrayed astronaut "Dick Gordon." Other highlights include stints on notable television shows such as House, Lie To Me, The Closer, Grey's Anatomy, Law & Order SVU, Medium, Will & Grace, Providence, The 4400, and the famous 'conversion' episode of Seinfeld. On stage, Tom has performed on and Off-Broadway including the award-winning Broadway production of Craig Lucas' Prelude To A Kiss. As a director, Tom has helmed numerous short films and television projects including multiple episodes of Scandal,Greys Anatomy,The Mentalist, Harry's Law, Private Practice, Boston Legal, Ugly Betty and American Dreams. Tom's short films include George and Gracie, The Bridge, and the award winning, ruthless comedy Studio City (written by Jack Coleman). Tom currently serves as CoExecutive Producer/Director on ABC's Scandal.

He has guest-starred on his wife, Kira Arne,'s TV series, Crossing Jordan (2001).
Columnist Liz Smith labeled Verica as "the sexiest man on television" in 1995.
He is of Italian/German descent.
His very first TV appearance was as a young teen dancer on "Dancin' On Air." The show was was broadcast live to 7 states out of Philadelphia from 1981 to 1987. Dancin' On Air was the predecessor to the hit national TV show, Dance Party USA.
