Act of Valor was a pretty awesome movie, and I'm excited to hear that Relativity Media and the Bandito Brothers are looking to team up to make a TV show based around it! It's about freakin' time someone developed a Navy Seal TV series! If they are able to bring the authenticity, realism and badassery that the movie had, then this could end up being an amazing show! The series will tell the true stories of missions carried out by the SEALs.
For those of you who haven't seen the movie yet, you might want to check it out. The acting might not be the best, but that's because they used real Navy SEALs. It's definitely entertaining though. There's no word on if they'll use Seal team members for the series or not. The plan is to shop the series around to broadcast and cable networks. The press release also »

Chicago – “Act of Valor” is a woeful miscalculation on every conceivable level. To call it a movie would be inaccurate. You know those slickly photographed, stupendously smug army recruitment videos that often appear in pre-show movie theater ads? Imagine one of those videos stretched to two hours and passed off as entertainment. It’s like a Michael Bay knockoff without the aliens.
After co-directing 2007’s documentary short, “Navy Swcc,” Mike “Mouse” McCoy and Scott Waugh were asked by the Navy to make a movie about the SEALs. Through their research, McCoy and Waugh decided that the only way to make an accurate film would be to cast real-life Navy SEALs who can shoot real guns and perform real stunts. Yet for all the “reality” on display, McCoy and Waugh have no idea how to make their film feel the least bit authentic.

Although the film stumbles during the dialogue scenes and the plot seems very familiar, Act of Valor entertains thanks to its incredible action sequences and the level of authenticity that is captured on the screen. Marketed around the fact the film features actual active duty Navy SEALs, Act of Valor was directed by Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh from a screenplay by Kurt Johnstad. It stars Jason Cottle, Nestor Serrano, Ailsa Marshall, Gonzalo Menendez, Emilio Rivera, Dimiter D. Marinov, Thomas Rosales Jr., Marc Margulies, Dan Southworth, Drea Castro, Marissa Labog, Alex Veadov and Roselyn Sanchez. The film.s plot is fairly straight forward and follows a Seal team as they hunt down a terrorist before he has a chance »

The 2012 action-adventure thriller film Act of Valor is a most unique production in that it stars a group of active-duty U.S. Navy SEALs alongside Hollywood actors Roselyn Sanchez (Yellow), Alex Veadov (TV’s Svetlana), Jason Cottle (Cthulhu) and Nester Serrano (TV’s 90210).
A fictionalized account of real life Navy Seal operation, Act Of Valor revolves around an elite team of highly trained Navy SEALs who are sent on a mission to recover a kidnapped CIA operative, unexpectedly resulting in the discovery of an imminent, terrifying global threat.
Produced and directed by former Baja 1000 champion Mike “Mouse” McCoy and former stuntman Scott Waugh, and written by Kurt Johnstad (300), the movie combines large-scale combat sequences with up-to-the-minute battlefield technology.

Once again, the Dardenne brothers pull you into the world of a poor, marginalised soul and keep you there, without resorting to any fancy tricks. How do they do it? In this case it's impulsive young Cyril: no mother, rejected by his father, no friends, and only his talismanic bike to cling to. What's to become of him? It sounds rather worthy but, in fact, it's an effortless watch – powerfully acted, paced like an action movie, and shifting into a higher gear of spiritual grace when it needs to.

Director: Mike McCoy, Scott Waugh.
Cast: Alex Veadov, Roselyn Sanchez, Nestor Serrano, Emilio Rivera.
Running Time: 101 minutes
Certificate: 15
Synopsis: When a CIA agent is kidnapped, a Navy Seal team is dispatched on a rescue mission and uncover a terrorist plot against America…
Act Of Valour marks an interesting development in the world of film-making. With a cast made predominantly of active Us Navy Seals, and filmed primarily on consumer-level Dslr cameras, the film ushers in a new benchmark in the action genre. But while highly trained commandos provide an unprecedented level of ‘realism’ on camera, basically re-enacting things they do in real life, they aren’t necessarily well versed in the ins and outs of theatrics. The action scenes are spectacular, and the film is worth watching for these alone, but Act Of Valour suffers from weak characters and a convoluted plot which, although might not have been intentional, borders on the overly patriotic. »

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Call of Duty: The Movie. Act of Valour may look like the sort of pro-military visual orgy that Michael Bay would more often than not end up as producer on, but it in fact has another gimmick up its sleeve that is altogether its own. The entire cast of war heroes in this film are in fact real Navy Seals, the very soldiers who have inspired countless shoot ‘em up video games, and as is to be expected, their involvement is both a blessing and a curse for this stylish yet rote action war film.
Narrative does not figure much in Act of Valour. The crux of the plot consists of several garden variety missions which could have been ripped from just about any level in a counterpart video game, be it extracting a kidnapped contact or finally, stopping a gang »

Act Of Valour
Review by Dan Clark of Movie Revolt
Stars: Alex Veadov, Roselyn Sanchez, Nestor Serrano, Jeffrey Barnachea, Drea Castro | Written by Kurt Johnstad | Directed by Mike McCoy, Scott Waugh
The simple premise of Act of Valour has sparked some controversy. Some see a film made by the U.S. Military that casts real life Navy Seals as an opportunity to see a true reflection of the American spirit while others see it as nothing more than a propaganda piece. Personally I feel the idea of casting real life Navy Seals in a film has some potential. With their knowledge and background we could get a film that replicates the trial and tribulations they actual go through on a daily basis. Action that wipes away the cleanliness and polish we have come to expect, and injects a sense of realism to provide something new and different. However that wasn’t the case at all. »

It might be a bit of a propaganda film for the Navy SEALs, but Ron still finds things to like in Act Of Valor...
When a CIA agent named Lisa Morales (Roselyn Sanchez) is made by the smuggling kingpin she's been observing, she finds herself in the hands of a brutal, bloodthirsty gang of trained killers. Christo (Alex Veadov) is the man behind the cartel, and he's a dangerous fellow to be at odds with, if only because he seems to have global contacts and an effortless supply of thugs. Meanwhile, terrorists leader Abu Shamal (Jason Cottle) is looking for a way to improve his terrorism technology while getting his associates into the United States via Mexico.
If you're wondering if these two things are related, just ask the United States Navy's Sea Air and Land Teams, aka the Navy SEALs. After all, there's no team better equipped to take »
