Liz Vassey was born on August 9, 1972 in Raleigh, North Carolina and was raised in Tampa, Florida. She began acting at the age of nine (portraying Oliver in the musical of the same name) and continued to work extensively on the stage, performing in over fifty plays at regional and professional theaters in the Tampa Bay area. She was invited to take theater classes at the University of South Florida at the age of thirteen. Continuing her studies, she worked with an acting teacher from the HB Studios for two years, and took classes at such places as Manhattan Class Company, University of Southern California and Howard Fine Studios.

Liz has appeared as a regular or recurring character on eleven television shows including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000), The Tick (2001), Maximum Bob (1998), Brotherly Love (1995) and All My Children (1970) (for which she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy). Lately, she has shifted her focus to writing. She wrote one episode of CSI in the tenth season and, since leaving that show, she has sold four pilots and a TV movie. Her hobbies include archery, scuba diving, and running.

She lives with her husband, David Emmerichs, in Los Angeles with their combined brood of way too many pets.

Along with Kristin Bauer van Straten, Liz runs a company called "Neurosis to a T(ee)", which designs and sells slogan-covered t-shirts for women. The slogans poke fun at female worries and neuroses, often relating to relationships.
Has appeared as two separate characters on Two and a Half Men (2003) whose love life is complicated by children. In 2003, played a soccer mom with a 10-year-old son; in 2010, took the role of a mother of a 20-year-old webcam starlet.
