World Without End Blu-Ray Review

3 December 2012 11:02 PM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Merely two years ago, Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth was brought to the small screen in an outstanding epic miniseries. It featured a fantastic mix of drama, romance, war, corruption, revenge, mystery, and political intrigue, all centered around the building of a cathedral in the fictitious English town of Kingsbridge. Now Follett’s “sequel” novel, World Without End, has been given the miniseries treatment, bringing us once again to this small town where we find that many of these same elements are still brewing, even 150 years later.

As this is a six and a half hour miniseries, there is quite a bit going on, so I’ll do my best to lay down the most important storylines. Set in the 1300s, the main storyline revolves around Caris (Charlotte Riley), a resident of Kingsbridge who has decided to study medicine from Mattie (Indira Varma), a woman who is »

Hunted Series 1 DVD Review

24 November 2012 3:30 AM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Creator: Frank Spotnitz

Starring: Melissa George, Stephen Dillane, Adam Rayner, Patrick Malahide, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Morven Christie, Lex Shrapnell, Stephen Campbell Moore, Tom Beard, Oscar Kennedy, Scott Handy, Indira Varma, David Sterne,

 Running Time: 464 minutes

Certificate: 15

Hunted has just finished its run on BBC 1 and unfortunately it has already been dropped by the BBC due to its poor performance. Perhaps a spy show taking place around the same time as the release of James Bond film Skyfall wasn’t a great idea. However, Hunted is a fantastically crafted show that easily rivals the best of Bourne, Bond, or Ethan Hunt.

Hunted follows Sam Hunter (George), a woman who works for a private espionage company. Right here we see a major difference from many spy related films and shows. The spies work for a company and not their government, making them more mercenaries for hire. It’s an interesting spin for as we hope our heroes succeed, »

Ruth Wilson's 'Ms. Marvel,' Starring The 'Luther' Cast

9 October 2012 5:00 AM, PDT | MTV Splash Page | See recent MTV Splash Page news »

Word has it that "Luther" villain Ruth Wilson is up for the role of Carol Danvers — aka Ms. Marvel — in Joss Whedon's "Avengers" sequel. While the possibility remains firmly in the rumor category, we couldn't stop our minds from running wild with the idea of secret serial killer Alice Morgan carrying the banner as one of the greatest heroes the Marvel Universe has to offer. But what about the rest of the "Luther" cast? Who would they play in Wilson's "Ms. Marvel" movie? Here's what we came up with.

Warning: "Luther" spoilers ahead!

Ruth Wilson as Ms. Marvel

Although I'd always be worried that she'd be this close to seeking out Asgard and going completely psycho-postal on Heimdall, I see why Wilson's name is being connected to Carol Danvers. Physically, Wilson is a perfect fit for one of Marvel's finest heroes, capable of overpowering any villain with little more than a look. »

The Voice Review: Cupid Kerfuffle

17 September 2012 9:30 PM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

On the heels of news that Usher and Shakira will be replacing Xtina and Cee Lo on this spring's fourth season of The Voice - as the latter two take a hiatus for other projects - the Blind Auditions continued on Monday, showcasing plenty of talent that will vie for positions in this year's live shows.

Like always, there were a few featured artists who didn't make the cut on Monday. The most interesting was Cupid. Yes, that Cupid. The man who made the "Cupid Shuffle" tried out for The Voice and failed to turn around a single chair.

He came on the show to prove to everyone that he was more than just his pop phenomenon line dancing song. I get that. He wants to prove he has a voice, something that wasn't really showcased in his signature track. So what song did he choose to sing for his audition? »
