Madam Secretary's Téa Leoni, EPs Talk Elizabeth's First Scandal, Henry's Spy Game, Staff Bonding and More
Madam Secretary‘s Elizabeth McCord is always one cool politico, no matter what tricky feat of international diplomacy is demanded of her. But those behind the scenes of CBS’ Sunday-night drama admit that its Season 2 pickup last month provided a welcome respite from the nerve-racking renwal waiting game.

“It was a big relief to get it early,” executive producer Lori McCreary says with a laugh.

“Huge,” chimes in fellow Ep Barbara Hall.

CSI Welcomes Back Marg Helgenberger For 300th Episode

  • Boomtron
CSI has been around so long that it now has the cumbersome task of doing something in celebration of reaching the milestone of 300 episodes. That’s a heck of a lot. That is easily hundreds of fictional people who have died over the years. But I don’t want to talk about the deceased. My interest lies in the living, specifically with former CSI star Marg Helgenberger, who will be returning to help make this a celebration to remember.

Helgenberger used to portray Catherine Willows until she left CSI partway through Season 12. Now she’s coming back for Season 14 and TVLine confirmed she would still be playing Willows and will have play a sizable role in the latest murder investigation. Executive producer Don McGill expressed his enthusiasm for Helgenberger’s return by saying, “she’s such an important part of the history of CSI.” And history will play a big

'CSI's' Elisabeth Harnois shares 'nerdy moment' with Ted Danson

Elisabeth Harnois can't deny she's thrilled to see herself in the title sequence of one of television's top dramas.

The actress' second episode as a "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" regular airs Wednesday (Sept. 28) on CBS. Introduced as a guest star last season, she's continuing the role of Morgan Brody, a crime-lab tech who has just transferred from Los Angeles to the Las Vegas unit ... where she clashes with her estranged father, ex-csi supervisor turned local lawman Conrad Ecklie (Marc Vann).

"That was one of the highlights," Harnois tells Zap2it of first seeing her billing alongside such "CSI" veterans as Marg Helgenberger, George Eads and Jorja Fox. "I knew I was only going to be in a couple of scenes [of the season premiere], but we all watched it together on a big screen on the studio lot, and I had forgotten that little detail of my name in the opening credits. It was something to see.

TV Review: Torchwood: Miracle Day – “Middle Men”

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars

Is it just me or does it seem like this episode and the previous one should have been combined into one 65 minute episode? It really feels like there wasn’t enough material here for two episodes, and that’s just the start of the problems.

“Miracle Men” picks up directly off of last week’s story, “Categories of Life,” with Rex (Mekhi Phifer), Esther (Alexis Havins), Gwen (Eve Myles), and Rhys (Kai Owen), all still stuck at the camps while Dr Juarez gets swept into a bin. I do believe she managed to set the record for the shortest lifespan ever after joining Torchwood.

As last week’s episode focused on their various efforts to get into the camps, this week focuses on the team’s various efforts to get out of the camps. Rex plans to take evidence and Gwen wants to take her father.

Torchwood S4E6 review

“Miracle Day: The Middle Men”

[Spoilers Within]

You know that old proverb, about how all it takes for evil to succeed is for good people to do nothing? What they don’t talk about is how too many “good” people often will join up with the forces of evil, and for a variety of reasons. Some are for monetary gain, some are for power and position, but those reasons are always selfish. The irony of it is that those people will usually find themselves to be nothing more than middle men, people who have gone along with the game plan are the ones that blame falls on when things go south. Even worse, some of those people find themselves out of their depth and drunk with power, using the age old excuse that they were just “following orders”.

Enter Stuart Owens, played by Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters, The Crow), a PhiCorp executive who

TV Review: Torchwood Miracle Day, 4.5 – “The Categories of Life”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Warning: A very significant event happens in this episode. Please do not make mention of it in the comments section until after the story airs in the UK!

Here we are, half way through Miracle Day. We still haven’t gotten any real answers to what’s going on, but at least we’re seeing some glimmering hope of answers on the distant horizon.

This episode focused on the Torchwood gang running around inside overflow (concentration), camps on two different continents. Gwen (Eve Myles), with Rhys (Kai Owen), in tow, is running around in Cowbridge, UK, looking for her father who has been admitted to one of the camps while Rex (Mekhi Phifer), Dr Juarez (Arlene Tur), and Esther (Alexa Havins), all infiltrate a camp in California.

Inside these camps, we learn that people around the world are being classified under three categories. Category three means you’re fine.

Torchwood S4E5 review

“Miracle Day: The Categories of Life”

[Spoilers Within]

Russell T. Davies has never been one to shy away from throwing a blaring spotlight on the current political clime, and this week’s episode of Torchwood proves it. Jane Espenson is back on writing duties to give us a scathing look at medical care, insurance battles, pharmaceutical company practices, and most frightening, the true ugliness of human nature. If you can make it to the end of this episode without a lump in your throat and disgust for medical bureaucracy, you need to check your pulse.

The overflow camps are hiding something big, and the team is heading in to find out what that is. With Gwen back in Wales to rescue her dad, it’s up to Vera to step up and momentarily join the team. Unfortunately, the secret is nothing short of pure horror. These overflow camps prove to be Nazi-style concentration camps,

Torchwood: Miracle Day, Episode 5: ‘The Categories of Life’

Torchwood: Miracle Day, Episode 5: “The Categories of Life”

Written by Jane Espenson

Directed by Guy Ferland

Airs Fridays at 10pm (Et) on Starz

This week on Torchwood: Vera joins the team, the gang goes undercover, Oswald gives a speech, Jilly gets noticed, and a tragic discovery is made.

After a string of disappointing episodes, this week Torchwood mostly gets it right by focusing on the personal stakes of the story. Certain elements are unsuccessful, such as the ridiculously foreshadowed baddie Vera has to deal with and Oswald’s unsurprising oratory decision, but overall this was a tight and well paced episode. The action was well executed, with one exception, and the tension was palpable. Espenson did a good job with her script, playing on the audience’s expectation of a supernatural or other worldly reveal when in fact the danger was much more human. Mekhi Phifer ratcheted down
