Stars including Gwyneth Paltrow, Elizabeth Hurley and Dame Shirley Bassey have helped raise thousands of dollars for charity by donating their designer cast-offs to a U.K. department store's garage sale.
The celebrities cleared out their wardrobes for The Really Really Great Garage Sale at London's Selfridges store on Sunday in aid of the Mothers4Children charity.
A pair of Bassey's shoes sold for $160 (£100), while Paltrow and Hurley's unwanted clothes also helped raise much needed cash.
Funnyman David Walliams, British singer Louise Redknapp and TV presenter Denise van Outen were among the stars manning stalls, each garnering more than $8,000 (£5,000) in profit.
Redknapp says, "It's actually hard to part with things because as I was putting it in the bag, I thought, 'I might wear that.' And then something kicked in and I thought, 'This is going to help a lot of children in difficult periods of their lives', and that's more important than me wearing it on a Saturday night out." »

They are smug, stomach-churning and delighted by their own existence
'Yep, it's that time of year again – and the Christmas adverts are already on the telly," remarks a man at the start of this year's B&Q Christmas advert, proving that the grand tradition of moaning about premature Yuletide ads has itself been absorbed by the Matrix and turned into a stick to beat us with. Let's hope this kind of jokey fourth-wall-breaking doesn't become a trend, or before long we'll all be moaning about the number of early Christmas ads that moan about the number of early Christmas ads, and then our moans about their moans will in turn form the basis of the next wave of ads, and so on and so on ad nauseam, until they're producing intricately constructed navel-gazing meta-commercials that are actually more self-aware than we are: fully sentient beings with thoughts and feelings of their own. »

A source told Britain's Closer magazine: "Sadie's in great shape and few people actually realize she has a great voice. The role of Roxie has previously been played by Ashlee Simpson, Denise Van Outen, Suzanne Shaw and Jill Halfpenny.
Sadie, 43, gave up acting over 10 years ago following the birth of her three children with then-husband Jude Law.
