Thor: Ragnarok Action Shots Pinpoint The Friends And Foes Populating Sakaar

17 August 2017 8:46 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Coming off its impressive showing at San Diego Comic-Con, Thor: Ragnarok is beginning to enter the home stretch ahead of its theatrical release in November.

We’ve seen high-res action shots and entire clips dedicated to the fantastical world of Sakaar, while yesterday brought forth the threequel’s Japanese trailer and with it, our first true look at Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange interacting with the God of Thunder. It’s an extension of that end-credits scene that was included in the Sorcerer Supreme’s solo outing, while also serving as a tantalizing primer for the duo’s inevitable reunion in Avengers: Infinity War. Also, fun fact: Ragnarok has been titled Thor: Battle Royale in anticipation of its Japanese release.

And frankly, it’s a fitting subtitle for what’s shaping up to be the wackiest Thor movie to date. Headed up by director Taika Waititi (Hunt For the Wilderpeople »

New International Trailer for 'Thor: Ragnarok' Includes a Familiar Face

16 August 2017 4:45 PM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"I sense a great change in your future." Disney has revealed a new international (Japanese) trailer for Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok, and while it features lots of footage we have seen before, there's a few new moments with some familiar faces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (hint, hint). This trailer doesn't even try to hide it - it just starts out with Doctor Strange right away. There's also a few other teases in this, so fire it up to get a closer look. Chris Hemsworth is back as Thor, with a kick ass cast: Cate Blanchett as Hela, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge, plus all of the others from Asgard including Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, and Jaimie Alexander. I'm still so, so excited for this. I'm just ready to watch already! Bring on Taika Waititi's Ragnarok mayhem. »

In the age of peak TV, we’ve gotten to see many series which are constructed to be satisfying after just one season of storytelling. Chris Hemsworth and Taika Waititi talk new haircuts and the inspiration for Thor: Ragnarok’s wild visual style

13 August 2017 9:05 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

In this age of franchises and shared universes, actors are often faced with a mental struggle when it comes to keeping a certain look across many films. It can’t be easy being bald, growing a huge beard, or wearing an itchy wig on set when it’s a look that you don’t personally enjoy, or is simply uncomfortable on set. Thor actor Chris Hemsworth apparently falls into the latter category. In a recent Entertainment Weekly feature, Hemsworth not only expressed his enthusiasm for the God of Thunder’s new haircut in Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War, and says the new do has actually enhanced his performance:

“When I didn’t have the wig on, I instantly felt like I could move and speak and react differently. Once we aesthetically stripped a lot of that away, it allowed the whole thing to take on a different attitude. It »

Check Out New Concept Art From Judge Dredd: Mega-City One

Hungry for more Judge Dredd? As we've previously reported, a live-action Judge Dredd television show is on the way, titled Judge Dredd: Mega-City One. It is planned as an ensemble drama following a team of Judges, including Dredd. Initially, it was thought the project was another reboot, or "soft reboot," following the lackluster box office of 2012's Dredd starring Karl Urban as the title Judge, but with the revelation just this week that Karl Urban is currently in talks to appear in Mega-City One, it looks like we may be returning to the world of Dredd as established in 2012.

Well, now we have our first look at the current vision for that world, and though it isn't a perfect match for what we were given in 2012, it's pretty damn close. Think Dredd, only a little bit even more like Blade Runner, as though Dredd's world has less neon »
