Son of Samuel Ullman, the author of the poem "Youth".
He engaged in the practice of architecture at Birmingham Alabama from 1899 until 1916; he 1917 he located at Los Angeles, California where he practiced his profession until entering the motion picture industry as a set designed in 1922.
Listed in the 1935 Film Daily Year Book as a member of the board of directors for the Cinemagundi Club of Hollywood.
