Legends: Season Two Ratings

Last year, despite the fact that the first season of Legends did very poorly in the ratings, TNT renewed it for a second season anyway. The producers have given the series a creative overhaul in hopes of attracting more viewers. Will it work or will the changes alienate the viewers they had? Cancelled or renewed for a third season? Stay tuned.

Based on the award-winning book by spy novelist Robert Littell, Legends follows Martin Odum (Sean Bean), an undercover agent who can transform himself into a different person for each case. Others in the cast this season are Winter Ave Zoli, Steve Kazee, Aisling Franciosi, Kelly Overton, Klara Issova, and Ralph Brown. Last season castmember Morris Chestnut will guest star in several episodes.

TV Review: ‘Legends,’ Season 2

TV Review: ‘Legends,’ Season 2
TNT is billing the second season of “Legends” as having been “completely re-imagined,” and for once, that’s not just hyperbole. Having apparently recognized that Sean Bean was the program’s singular asset, the producers have developed a new, more ambitious structure that proceeds along parallel tracks, featuring two stories, one set in present-day London and the other unfolding 15 years earlier. Watching season one will help, but isn’t a prerequisite, and the whole enterprise suddenly has the darker feel of a premium cable drama, if not-fully-realized one, as opposed to a rather tepid procedural with Bean as the identity-shifting spook.

Adapted from a book, “Legends” derived its title from Bean’s central character, Martin Odum, an FBI agent who assumed different undercover identities while wrestling with uncomfortable questions about his past. Season one ended with Martin on the run for a murder he didn’t commit, while still unsure of his own history.

13 strange changes made to movies during production

From title changes to the addition of rubber demons, here's a selection of some rather strange movie alterations from cinema history...

The course of film production seldom runs smooth, and even the greatest films can suffer from all sorts of behind-the-scenes problems. For a very recent example, just look at Fantastic Four, a film with which suffered the kind of difficult production that will no doubt inspire books on the subject in the near future.

At any rate, the movies on this list are all examples of strange (and sometimes last-minute) changes, often imposed by producers or executives. In some unfortunate cases, the changes haven't been particularly beneficial, but one alteration turned out to be a pioneering moment in cinema history.

In every instance, the changes are unusual, surprising, or sometimes downright baffling ...

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Review: “Melinda” (Season 2, Episode 17)

It’s not exactly who killed Laura Palmer, or what happened to Mulder’s sister, but the question of what happened to Melinda May that earned her the reputation of being a one woman army is one of the unknown mysteries of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Although we know the broad strokes of how Agent May became known as “The Cavalry,” any threat of the episode named after her becoming somewhat anticlimactic was washed away thanks to a solid script that plausibly tied together flashback action and the story in the present day. May’s problem in the present is the secrets that Coulson’s been keeping, a second life he’s been leading as Director of S.
