For the second time, the new Parenthood series has been delayed due to unfortunate circumstances. Does this mean good news or bad news for another NBC show?
Based on the 1989 feature film of the same name, the new Parenthood revolves around a multi-generational family and their day-to-day problems. The series stars Peter Krause, Maura Tierney, Erika Christensen, Dax Shepard, Bonnie Bedelia, Craig T. Nelson, James Tupper, Guillermo Diaz, Delroy Lindo, James LeGros, and Diego Klattenhoff.
The drama is actually the second series based on the movie. The first is a light-hearted 1990 dramady that ran for only one season on NBC.
Back in April, NBC executive Nora O'Brien died unexpectedly while visiting the set of the show in Berkeley, California. Production on the show's pilot was shut down for two days as a result.
Now, production has been delayed for eight weeks due to Tierney having a health issue. Production had

Taking a break from Daddy duty, actor James Tupper joked that fathering his newborn son, Atlas, with Anne Heche has been exhausting. "It's a bit like having an unreasonable employer," he told People. "He doesn't give breaks." Tupper, who is also step-dad to Heche's son Homer, 7, from her marriage to Coley Lafoon, admits that as babies go, Atlas is very well-behaved. "I always imagine babies crying," he says. "He doesn't really. He's very sweet. He's in a warm bath of love and attention."From the sounds of it, Atlas will soon be living up to his name: NBC announced that

In addition to cancelling Life earlier today (not that I'm bitter), NBC revealed the six new series it has picked up for the 2009-2010 season.
First, the bad news: I've read through the descriptions and casting sides for all of the shows except Trauma, and despite the fact that they are all ensembles with more characters than you can keep track of, all the leads are straight, as far as I can tell (with the possibility that Guillermo Diaz's character on Mercy). If anyone in the industry knows otherwise, please send me a tip!
The only one of the series created by a woman is Mercy (the one about female nurses, naturally).
So basically, it's business as usual on primetime broadcast TV.
The good news? We'll be getting Maura Tierney (Parenthood), Carly Pope (Day One), and Michelle Trachtenberg (Mercy) on the regular, and some racial diversity among the casts (not a lot,

NBC has been struggling of late to find its identity as an entertainment programming network. With so many of television's best shows now appearing on cable channels (some of which are admittedly owned by parent NBC/Universal), the major networks have faced an increasing challenge to develop intriguing dramatic television, also facing as they do increased competition from video games, Internet downloads and other forms of entertainment.
But it's been hardest on NBC, which went through a serious staffing shakeup last December, searching for new blood and fresh ideas.
Has it worked? It's still too early to tell. Perhaps the most intriguing new offering from NBC is Day One, a futuristic drama from Heroes writer-producer Jesse Alexander. The story chronicles the aftermath of a global event that devastates the world's infrastructures when a small band of survivors strive to rebuild society and unravel the mysteries of why the event took

The big-eyed, chestnut-haired cutie that is Michelle Trachtenberg has landed herself a starring role on the NBC pilot Mercy. The medical dram-com centers around a group of young nurses who, I’m sure, stand by each other through times of trouble, romance and hilarity.
With ER leaving the NBC building, Mercy might be the defibrillator the network will need to crush Grey’s Anatomy. There can never be too many hospital shows — nothing says fun like changing a bedpan and obligatory doctor-nurse sex: “We shouldn’t be doing this.” “Oh yes, we should!”
Of the three lead nurses, Michelle’s character will be playing the inexperienced “tragically unhip” role. It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to think of Trachtenberg as anything remotely “unhip” — even the stint she had on House as a heart-transplant patient who basically lives in a bubble, had a boyfriend and got

A couple of days ago a film touching on that very topic, Toxic Skies, aired on Australian TV, but it's nearly impossible to find any information on it. Not even on the IMDb.
So leave it to YouTube to provide a trailer, which you can check out below. And thanks to one of our readers, Jrm, we were able to track down a synopsis courtesy of Rumor Mill News:
