A sex tape starring Gossip Girl pin-up Leighton Meester has sparked a bidding war between online porn sites.
Reports suggest Kevin Blatt, the broker behind Paris Hilton and Verne Troyer's sex tapes, admits he's surprised by the level of interest in the footage.
He tells RadarOnline.com that bids for the video have exceeded $1 million (£666,600).
Blatt reveals the racy footage features a younger Meester performing a striptease for a boyfriend and then performing a number of sensual and erotic acts.
He says, "It's very playful actually. It's not shot in high definition and looks like it has been shot using a video camera while they are both fooling around."

What do you get when an Oscar winning visual effects artist teams up with the screenwriter of Daddy Day Care? A monstrous family comedy called The Goblin that's poised to be the greatest film of its kind since A Gnome Named Norm.
Variety reports that visual effects wizard Charles Gibson, who has won Oscars for his work on Babe and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, will make his directorial debut with The Goblin, a family comedy about a suburban family that moves into its new home only to find a curmudgeonly goblin who doesn't want them there.
The script was penned by Geoff Rodkey, screenwriter of such modern classics as Daddy Day Care, Rv, and the remake of The Shaggy Dog. Wonder how that curmudgeonly goblin feels about crappy family comedies?
And somewhere Verne Troyer sits by his phone desperately hoping the producers don't plan to go with an entirely computer-animated creature.

We received word on Friday from Lionsgate that an October date has finally been set for the theatrical release of the film in The UK (which I have been promised I will be attending an advanced screening of, hopefully shortly). I hope to have an exact date in a reply shortly.
No Us date has yet been set, but I strongly agree with The Playlist (via Hey U Guys) it’s highly possible that the division of Lionsgate on the other end of the Atlantic will secure a similar deal for a limited run.
Thank you to Sylvia for the e-mail tip regarding the other Euro dates.
According to IMDb, the following additional European release dates are also scheduled:
Italy 4 September 2009
Romania 18 September 2009
New Zealand 24 September 2009
Czech Republic 1 October 2009
Australia 29 October 2009
Belgium 11 November 2009

An updated news regarding Leighton Meester's sex tape, which reportedly has been shopped around, is brought forth by Radar Online. The site claims the footage is offered to porn distributors with an asking price of more than $1 million.
In related news, Kevin Blatt, who was involved in the leak of Paris Hilton and Verne Troyer's sex tapes, reveals that Leighton's attorneys will surely find it hard to stop the racy footage from making its round on the Internet since it "could be hosted by an off-shore site." He, moreover, claims to have been approached by Celebhotline.com, which already featured the tape on its site, to make the set public.
"In my opinion this tape will not destroy her career," Blatt tells Radar Online. "She looks around 18 years-old and is seen involved in an act with her boyfriend in a house. It's very playful actually. It's not shot

Though played to mixed reviews at Cannes, Terry Gilliams’s The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus has one thing going for it: Heath Ledger’s final performance. Sure…part of the film is faux-Ledger mixed with CGI, “movie magic” Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell, but the late actor is there. Somewhere.

Over the weekend, French site Comme au Cinema posted three new clips from The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, the movie Heath Ledger was working on when he died in January 2008.
Director Terry Gilliam enlisted the help of Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, and Jude Law, who stepped in to complete Ledger's role. They will reportedly represent transformations of Ledger's character, an enigmatic outsider who joins the traveling troupe of Dr. Parnassus and gives his audiences visions of alternate realities.
The clips (included below) feature Ledger along with Verne Troyer (aka Mini Me), Lily Cole and veteran Christopher Plummer in the title role.

In the wake of its appearance at the Cannes Film Festival this past week, three new clips from Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus have appeared online via the French site Comme Au Cinema. The fantasy film -- which stars Heath Ledger, Christopher Plummer, Tom Waits, Lily Cole, Andrew Garfield, Verne Troyer, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law -- tells the story of Dr. Parnassus and his traveling 'Imaginarium', a traveling show where members of the audience are given the opportunity to choose between light and joy or darkness and gloom, thanks to the good Doctor's extraordinary gift of guiding the imaginations of others. Of course, not even his gift can stop the result of a deal that he struck long ago with the devil, known as Mr. Nick. Originally earning immortality in a bet with Mr. Nick, Dr. Parnassus later found his true love and traded his immortality for youth, on

Recently spotlighted at the Cannes Film Festival in France, all-star cast Terry Gilliam and Charles McKeown film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus marks the end of a brilliant career by the recently deceased Heath Ledger, who joined the ranks of Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, and Jude Law. Also cast in the picture are Christopher Plummer, Tom Waits, and Verne Troyer. Health Ledger passed away on January 22, 2008, and his legend was quickly memorialized with the success of The Dark Knight, as he traipsed the streets of Gotham City and stirred up the world for Christian Bale character Batman (with the ever-capable hand of Aaron Eckhart's Harvey Dent/Two-Face). Yet, The Dark Knight wasn't Ledger's only legendary role. With Jake Gyllenhaal, Ledger was nominated in 2006 for his work in Ang Lee masterpiece Brokeback Mountain. Also his performance as Skip in Thirteen and Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke's masterpiece Lords of Dogtown

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Terry Gilliam’s latest fantasy outing which sees the late Heath Ledger in his last ever role, is looking better and better every day. We’ve already posted some gorgeous images from the movie, as well as a minute-long clip featuring Ledger. The early reviews for Doctor Parnassus suggest, for the most part, that it’s something to look forward to.
To fuel the list of reasons to be excited about Gilliam’s new movie, we have a couple of new clips for you. Neither of them feature Ledger (I’m guessing they don’t want to release too much of him in the movie), but they’re worth checking out nonetheless. Check out Ben Wishaw, Verne Troyer, Lily Cole and Christopher Plummer in action (oops… did that sound right?):

The film tells the story of Dr Parnassus and his extraordinary 'Imaginarium', a traveling show where members of the audience get an irresistible opportunity to choose between light and joy or darkness and gloom. Blessed with the extraordinary gift of guiding the imaginations of others, Dr Parnassus is cursed with a dark secret. Long ago he made a bet with the devil, Mr Nick, in which he won immortality. Many centuries later, on meeting his one true love, Dr Parnassus made another deal with the devil, trading his immortality for youth, on condition that when his first-born reached its 16th birthday he or she would become the property of Mr Nick.

As the festival enters its final weekend, things have grown quieter. That doesn't mean Friday lacked excitement, though. Undoubtedly, the big title of the day was Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, featuring Heath Ledger's final performance. Erik Davis rounded up the first reactions. The director and Verne Troyer (Aka "Mini Me") appeared in support of the film.
Another eagerly-awaited title also debuted: Gasper Noé's Enter the Void. Of course, the interest in Imaginarium has more to do with the stars (Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, and Jude Law stepped in to finish the film after Ledger's untimely passing). Void, on the other hand, created anticipation because it is Noé's first feature-length work since his Irreversible generated considerable controversy at Cannes seven years ago.
Via David Hudson at IFC's The Daily, we learn that Enter the Void has already been compared to the Wachowskis' Speed Racer and Stanley Kubrick

The 62nd Cannes Film Festival has played host to the premiere of "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus". On Friday, May 22, the movie that sees the final performance of late actor Heath Ledger got a red carpet treatment at Grand Theatre Lumiere in Cannes, France, celebrating its first time screening.
For the special occasion, director Terry Gilliam was joined by several cast members, including Andrew Garfield, Lily Cole and Verne Troyer, as well as producers Samuel Hadida and Amy Gilliam. None of the three actors sharing Ledger's role as Tony in the film, Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell, were spotted on the red carpet.
Screened at the festival as one of the Out of Competition movies, "Imaginarium" ended with a special dedication to the late star that read "A film from Heath Ledger and friends". Prior to the premiere, Terry revealed that after Heath's tragic death early last year,

Another Cannes red carpet lit up today, but this time it was about charity instead of movies as the stars came out for Sharon Stone's annual amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS 2009 benefit. After a long night of partying with Brad and Angelina, Joshua Jackson accompanied Diane Kruger to the event, while Paris and Doug represented a different kind of couple. Robert Pattinson didn't need a leading lady on his arm to stand out in another dapper suit and Josh Hartnett also provided some eye candy for the ladies. Most of us know by now that tragically Terry Gilliam’s “The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus” is the last on screen role that we will have the pleasure of watching the late Heath Ledger in. A previously unseen clip of Ledger in the film was featured in the opening night reel at Cannes, and you can view the clip on YouTube below.
As much as we can’t wait to see this, I still think that nothing could eclipse the hype that Heath received for his incredible turn as The Joker in Chris Nolan and Christian Bale’s “The Dark Knight”. What do you think? And what is your fave Heath Ledger film? Let us know in the comments.

Three new movie still and one behind the scenes image have appeared on DVD Forum to promote the late Heath Ledger's final movie - Terry Gilliam’s The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus.
After Heath's untimely death last year, director Terry Gilliam found himself without a leading man, that is until Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell all stepped in to play Ledger's character during a series of transformations in the dream world the character travels through.

At the time of his death in January 2008, Heath Ledger was at work on another project following his turn as the Joker in The Dark Knight. Studio executives are already clamoring over the rights to The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, a present-day fantasy written and directed by the visionary Terry Gilliam (Brazil, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas).
Although the movie hasn't even had its premiere as an out-of-competition entry at the Cannes Film Festival -- which begins May 13 -- The Hollywood Reporter says Parnassus may be in the hands of a U.S. distributor even before Cannes gets underway. We'll keep you posted for further details.
Following Ledger's death, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell were cast to fill in his role. They will reportedly represent transformations of Ledger's character, an enigmatic outsider who joins the traveling troupe of Dr. Parnassus, who gives his audiences visions of alternate realities.
