Sam Troughton was born on March 21, 1977. He is an actor, known for AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004), Robin Hood (2006) and Sylvia (2003).

He is the grandson of Patrick Troughton.
He is the son of David Troughton and Alison Groves.
Is a Shakespearean actor who has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Sam's performance as Young Talbot in the RSC's production of Henry VI earned him a nomination for the Ian Charleson Award 2001 for outstanding performance by a young actor in a classical theatre role.
He is the nephew of Michael Troughton.
He is the first cousin of Harry Melling.
Neither he nor his father David Troughton were aware that his late grandfather Patrick Troughton had played the title character in Robin Hood (1953) until he was cast as Much, Robin's trusted friend and ally, in Robin Hood (2006).
He has two younger brothers, James "Jim" Troughton (born on March 2, 1979) and William "Wigsy" Troughton (born October 4, 1984).
He is reportedly interested in playing a villain in Doctor Who (2005). His grandfather Patrick Troughton played the Second Doctor in Doctor Who (1963) from 1966 to 1969 while his father David Troughton has appeared in both that series and Doctor Who (2005).
In Hex (2004), he played Remiel, a fallen angel in the service of Satan, who poses as a Catholic priest named Father Jez Heriot while in The Omen (1976), his grandfather Patrick Troughton played Father Brennan, a Catholic priest who is killed by Satan.
He played George, Duke of Clarence in The Hollow Crown: Richard III (2016) while his grandfather Patrick Troughton played Sir James Tyrrell in Richard III (1955).
