Born in New Jersey, and raised in Texas by two native New Yorkers. Moved to New York City the day after she turned 18. Returned to Texas to do Equity theater at the Tony-Award-Winning Alley Theater. Eventually decided to try Los Angeles. At the last minute, the friend that was moving to LA with her decided not to go, and she moved by herself, knowing no one. She was homeless for the first 3 & 1/2 months in California - living out of her car. Did still photos with Tom Cruise for promotional use for "Magnolia". (Was the "Dimples Girl")

First known as an up and coming young actress in Hollywood in the 90s and early 2000s, after being a cast member of the cult classic "Dazed and Confused" as a young teen, then appearing in commercials, independent films and on popular TV shows like "Gilmore Girls", "ER" and "The OC", Heidi Van Horne became a mainstay in the new pinup movement and soon became one of the most popular pinup girl and cover models of the era, working with top companies in print and online fashion campaigns and commercial modeling jobs, and gracing the cover of numerous magazines, catalogs, and some of the most ground breaking and influential photo books of the time (including the cover of David Perry's iconic "Hot Rod Pin Ups" by Motorbooks Inc., the often referenced "Modern Vixens" by pin up auteur Octavio Arizala and Goliath Press, the "Go With Moon" anthology and history of one of the most popular hot rod companies to exist, by Laurent Bagnard and Cast Iron Press, and the sexual self help book "How to Be a Dominant Diva", by Georgia Payne and Julie Taylor, which led to Heidi's face being seen on such varied venues as Stuff magazine and "The O'Reilly Factor".)

In "Dazed and Confused", Heidi was "Freshman Girl #3". She had speaking lines, but they were cut from the final edit of the film. When Darla (Parker Posey) says, "Wipe that face off your head, bitch!", she is saying it to Heidi, who had just crossed the screen.
