Mother of the actor and singer Diego Torres.
Made her name as a Spanish actress in radio and film in Argentina, though she visited Spain for the first time in 1960.
Popular in the Soviet Union, where many newborn girls were named "Lolita" after her tour there in 1963. On a second tour in 1978, she was labelled a "subversive" by the military régime in Buenos Aires and broke her journey home in Peru until it was safe to return.
She leaves two sons and two daughters from her second marriage.
She has one son from her first marriage
In 2002 she was honored as "Ciudadano Ilustre de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires" ("Illustrious Citizen of the City of Buenos Aires").
