GET SHE WATER is a multi-layered road film about four disturbed acquaintances, each living alone in Los Angeles, who team up to assist a member of their alliance make good on a promise to his father. Lenny Mayo is called on to personally transport his father’s corpse five hundred miles in a bizarre funeral procession from Louisville, Kentucky all the way up to a small town in northern Michigan. If Lenny gets his dad into the family plot, per the Will’s direction, he can collect his inheritance. The journey swiftly produces events that shift us into a world rife with Mayo memories. Two distinctly embedded American cultures collide. GET SHE WATER shows how one unlikely command, devised by a dead man supposedly bent on settling some old score, may actually exact unlikely friendships out of that simple order, and lead to something more valuable than any of them considered before taking the old man, and his big trip, on.
