Rachel Tolboys was born in 1990 in Leeds. In 1993 she began playing Alice Bates in ITV's Emmerdale, replacing Kimberley Hewitt. In the summer of 1999, Rachel decided to leave Emmerdale and so the character of Alice was written out of the series in November.
