Chicago Bears fans are starting to get a little excited with their 7-1, Nfc North leading team. Football experts and media types are starting to make some 2006 comparisons, which was when the Bears last made a Super Bowl appearance. Some sports journalists are even bringing up - gasp – the 1985 Bears into the discussion, which was the… Do I really need to explain Da ‘85 Bears?
The reason for the burgeoning excitement over this 2012 team is their Monstrous defense who are doing things that have never been done before. Lance Briggs and Charles Tillman each returned an interception for a touchdown in the same game; In Consecutive Weeks! The Bears have actually have returned 7 interceptions for touchdowns in just 8 weeks. The all time record is 9, which was set by the Chargers in 1961. Charles Tillman set a record by forcing 4 fumbles in the Bears 51-20 win in Tennessee last Sunday.

The Chicago Bears were puttering along in the first half against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. They were running the ball well and playing their usual outstanding defense, with the passing game was looking for some rhythm. Bears quarterback Jay Cutler threw an early interception and he was off target much of the 1st half, but his offensive line was keeping him upright.
The Fox camera kept panning to Jay Cutler, but the gun-slinging Qb wasn’t giving them much to run with. He had his share of first half frustrations, but not a bump or a shun was seen. It was business as usual for the Bears, but they could only muster a lone field goal, and they went into the locker room tied 3-3.
But there’s two halves to every football game, and that 3-3 tie quickly turned into a lopsided game.

Jay Cutler just can’t seem to win. Even when he plays well and guides the Chicago Bears to a 34-18 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, Cutler receives his usual mainstream media treatment. Jay Cutler is a Jerk.
Early in the Monday Night game there was some miscommunication getting the offensive play into Cutler, he had to burn a timeout, and he wasn’t happy with it. Then they failed to pick up a first down and there was some understandable frustration with that. Chicago offensive coordinator Mike Tice wanted to talk to Jay when he came back to the sideline, and Cutler didn’t feel very chatty.
Tice approached Cutler, Cutler took a seat on the bench. Tice sat next to him, Cutler got up and walked away. To me this was a case of two highly competitive adults that had a disagreement, and instead of saying something he...

Kristin Cavallari made her way through security at Lax last night with her son, Camden Cutler. She had her hands full with a stroller, baby essentials, and her new dark gray Hermès Birkin bag that was a push present from her fiancé, Jay Cutler. Baby Camden isn't yet 2 months old, but he's already becoming a pro at traveling. Kristin's been in La for the past week shooting her upcoming Chinese Laundry footwear campaign, as well as making a cameo on FX's The League. Kristin and Camden caught an outbound flight from La to NYC, while Jay and the Chicago Bears put on a solid show defeating the Dallas Cowboys 34-18 in Texas. Jay's been catching some heat for his on-field antics, and last night was no different. He was spotted blowing off the Bears' offensive coordinator, Mike Tice, but following the game, Cutler laughed off the sideline incident, saying, "You...

Ok, I’ve had about all I can take of the negativity surrounding the Chicago Bears after their week 2 disaster in Green Bay. The Packers walloped them. The offensive game plan had some holes in it, the offensive line had some holes in it, and apparently Jay Cutler’s head had some holes in it. Time to move on, time for a different type of look at the Chicago Bears.

Alrighty then. Now that I’m in the proper mood to tackle some glass half full thoughts on the Monsters of the Midway, it’s time to get down to business.
With the Packers win, the Bears loss, the Vikings loss, and the Lions loss, there’s now a four way 1-1 tie atop the Nfc North.

In 2010 the Chicago Bears hired Mike Martz to be their Offensive Coordinator, with the hope that he would rekindle the magic from his ‘Greatest Show On Turf’ St. Louis Rams days. While the Rams played in the controlled environment of a dome, the Bears play on the comical sod of Soldier Field.
The Chicago playing surface has a sketchy reputation, with an almost weekly resodding, and many fans started joking that the Bears offense under Martz would be the Greatest Show On Sod. While the Bears did have some success under Martz’s guidance, a truly great offense never materialized. To be fair to Martz, part of the blame has to fall on former general manager Jerry Angelo, who failed to upgrade the offense with enough weapons for trigger-man Jay Cutler.
