Seven More Scream Factory Releases You Don’t Want To Miss!!

4 October 2016 9:37 PM, PDT | | See recent Icons of Fright news »

A little while back, we wrote about Twenty Essential Scream Factory Releases, which were DVD/Blurays releases that the gang at Scream Factory knocked right out of the park. It was a fun, overwhelmingly in depth project to take on, going through my Sf collection (I’m a self-proclaimed fanatic of the brand, and will continue to be) and figuring out which films and releases were ones I considered good, bad and downright Essential. It’s be a little while since that piece and the Sf crew continues to put out excellent titles, so I thought I’d do my best to turn you fright fanatics onto a few more films which I not only love, but feel like were given the “all out” treatment when it comes to home releases. Here are Seven More Scream Factory Releases You Don’t Want to Miss!!

The Dead Room Review

5 April 2016 12:12 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Given how easy it is to dramatize ghost encounters, the paranormal subgenre has become horror’s deepest mixed-bag of results. A good zombie movie requires flesh-rotting makeup, and slasher flicks demand artistically grotesque gore, but any average Joe or Jane can string together a few spiritual scares.

Slam some doors, shut some windows, make objects fly around a room – you know, that Paranormal Activity knock-off garbage – and finito! Just look at Jason Stutter’s The Dead Room. Costs are low because one rickety shack acts as the film’s single setting, and only three actors have to pretend something nasty is chasing them. Paranormal Activity made a cool profit doing the same, so why not The Dead Room?

Well, because it’s weightless, derivative, recycled genre boredom that makes even 75 minutes feel like a horror fan’s personal Hell.

Sideshow’s Evil-Lyn Statue: From Sideshow Collectibles: “Sideshow is proud to present the stunning sorceress, Evil-Lyn, who joins Skeletor and He-Man in our new statue collection inspired by the popular 80’s cartoon series, Masters of the Universe!

Skeletor could not hope for a more capable ally than the sinister and sultry Evil-Lyn -intelligent, fearless, and gifted with an incredible mastery of dark magic – that is, when she isn’t carrying out her own wicked schemes! Joined by her faithful falcon, Screeech, the conniving witch strikes a dramatic pose at the base of Snake Mountain in her signature headdress, intricate armor, and a dazzling costume that perfectly frames the serpent tattoos winding down her back. »
