Rosemary Theby was born Rose Masing in St. Louis, MO, on April 8, 1892. She began her career at age 27 in 1912, with a part in The Godmother (1912), and went on to appear in more than 90 films. She was much in demand and was one of the most sought-after character actresses, and survived the transition from the silent era into the "talkie" stage. She was married to director Harry Myers for more than 20 years. He died in 1938 and two years later, after appearing in One Million B.C. (1940), she retired to Kansas City, MO.

She died June 10, 1973, at the Virgil Convalescent Center in Los Angeles, CA.

Featured in many slapstick comedy shorts for Charley Chase and Mack Sennett, while appearing opposite film's top comedians at the time such as Andy Clyde, Oliver Hardy and W.C. Fields.
She and her actor/director husband Harry Myers suffered severe financial setbacks during the Depression and took on many minor, often unbilled roles after the age of sound thanks to the generosity of such friends as Oliver Hardy.
Her first big hit was in William Shakespeare's As You Like It (1912), playing the starring role of Cecilia.
Brunette American leading lead with slender, petite figure and expressive mournful eyes. She played alluring types such as the harem girl Kut-al-Kulub in Kismet (1920) and scheming Queen Morgan Le Fey in A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (1921).
Her and husband Harry Myers' most successful film together was A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (1921), in which Harry played the title role opposite her Morgan Le Fey.
