In what would be her first regular U.S. series role since The X-Files, Gillian Anderson has re-teamed with X-Files producer 20th Century Fox with a part in the studio’s NBC drama pilot from writer-executive producer Rand Ravich. Also cast in the untitled project is 666 Park Avenue star Rachael Taylor. Described as an emotionally charged action thriller set in and around the world of Washington DC, the pilot follows an idealistic Secret Service agent who finds himself at the epicenter of an international crisis on his first day on the job as the President’s son’s protection when the son, along with several of his schoolmates, are kidnapped. Taylor will play FBI agent Susie Dunn, the point person on the abduction whose niece, Amber, is among the kidnapped kids. In investigating the case, she must reestablish ties with her estranged sister, Meg (Anderson), whom she has not spoken to for years.

I really wanted to like 666 Park Avenue.
I wanted to move in, kick my feet up and take up a very long residence inside an address that features such personal favorites as Terry O'Quinn, Vanessa Williams and Rachael Taylor.
But the pilot didn't exactly inspire me to buy an apartment there. I'll rent for a couple more weeks, but the series needs to seriously up the scary ante if it wants my down payment.
Let's start with O'Quinn's Gavin Doran. We can only assume at this point that he's The Devil, which isn't exactly a fresh concept on TV or on the big screen. Blame Reaper or blame The Devil's Advocate or, heck, blame Death on The Simpsons.
But the premise simply doesn't feel very original. Nor does it give O'Quinn a lot of material to mine. Any fan of Lost is quite familiar with the nuances and the depth of this incredible actor.

Chicago – The 2010-11 season was a very interesting one for network television. After a few years of undeniable failure, most of the networks found at least one new notable hit. Fox is building an entire night of comedy around Emmy-nominated breakout “New Girl.” ABC is ecstatic over the loyal followings for “Revenge” & “Once Upon a Time” (and “Suburgatory” has the potential to truly breakout in its sophomore season). NBC looks a little more dire but is willing to give “Up All Night” and “Whitney” second chances. And CBS’ “2 Broke Girls” looks like it could be on for a decade. It was a solid crop all around. The good news? This season looks even more promising when one looks at the very top of my annual top ten list of the most promising new shows.
