Disney's Pinocchio Live-Action Movie Targets James Bond Director

  • MovieWeb
Sam Mendes is in talks to take on Disney's live-action adaptation of Pinocchio. The monster box office success of Beauty and the Beast and The Jungle Book is sure to have been a deciding factor to continue rehashing the animated stories for Disney. The live-action adaptation of The Lion King is in the works and now the long rumored live-action Pinocchio may have found a director. The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Mulan are rumored to be coming next from the Mouse House.

Deadline reports that Mendes (American Beauty, Spectre) is currently in very early talks to direct the live-action Pinocchio for Disney. We'll take this news with a grain of salt because about a year ago it was reported that Mendes was in early talks to direct a live-action remake of James and the Giant Peach, which has yet to come into fruition. But it will be pretty interesting to

Meme: Kellan Lutz' Rubdown, Cheyenne Jackson Replaces Sean Hayes In "6 Dances," and Rebel Wilson Straddles Channing Tatum For MTV

  • The Backlot
In his new film Java Heat, Kellan Lutz does bare-chested pull-ups from the ceiling, no-feet pushups, then decides to get a Thai massage, baring his perfectly sculpted behind in these Nsfw shots. Sadly, when he flips over, there's a man blocking the shot just perfectly. The director should be fired.

In what has to be the funniest news to come out of Vatican City in a while, the Vatican bought a share in a giant Roman apartment block that just happens to house the largest gay men's sauna in Europe. The priests will have a short commute.

Third place The X Factor finalist Christopher Maloney has come out as gay. ”Do you know what, I’m going to admit it – yeah. Honestly, I’ve never denied it or anything like that. It’s just that with the show it was always an inappropriate time or people just asked inappropriate questions.

Meme: Channing Tatum Is a Rhythmic God, Joseph Gordon-Levitt Knows How To Get To "Sesame Street," and Bill Maher Is Gay For Marijuana

Jonathan Taylor Thomas is making a rare onscreen appearance, guest starring with his old TV dad on Last Man Standing, which I didn't know was still on the air. I used to have such a crush on Jtt.

The Face host Nigel Barker is directing a film about my friend David Mixner. The movie will chronicle his years of activism and politics, telling the story of the gay rights movement, from the 1980s through the HIV crisis, to the present day.

Out has put together their annual list of the most eligible gay bachelors, with Dustin Lance Black ranking #1. Chris Colfer is at 37 for some reason. My future ex-husband Russell Tovey is nowhere to be found on the list. notes that the theater community makes a strong showing, with people like Gavin Creel, but also Ryan Steele and Matt Doyle, who not only aren't really bachelors, but are happily together.

Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer Grow Up For Paramount’s Supernatural Retelling

  • The Film Stage
Mark Twain‘s story of Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer is no stranger to the film world. Whether it be one of the first (seen above) or Jonathan Taylor Thomas portraying the title character in 1995, there have been many, many adaptations in between. Paramount is about to give it the likely completely unnecessary twist, THR reports.

The duo will be featured as adults for the film based on Andrew Burg‘s script that contains ”supernatural elements.” Titled Huck and Tom, Rise of the Planet of the Apes producer Peter Chernin is on board and said to be in the “vein of Snow White and the Huntsman.” Script work is also said to be completed by Matt Lopez (Bedtime Stories, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice).

I like to give projects the benefit of the doubt, but nothing about this seems like a smart idea. I don’t understand the need for “supernatural elements,

First Look at Winnie

  • HeyUGuys
THR have posted the first image from Winnie, a film based on the life Winnie Madikizela-Mandela. The film, currently shooting in South Africa. Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls) is portraying Winnie Madikizela-Mandela opposite Terrance Howard’s (Iron Man) Nelson Mandela. The supporting cast is set to include Elias Koteas (Shutter Island), Wendy Crewson (24) and Jonathan Taylor (Skin).

The official synopsis is as follows:

Though Madikizela-Mandela fought for years to win her husband’s release from prison, the couple divorced in 1996, which might be worth a reprise or two of Hudson’s “Dreamgirls” anthem, “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.”

Winnie is being directed by Darrell Roodt (Lullaby), and is a co-production between Ma-Afrika Films and Equinoxe Films. A release has yet to be finalised, but is likely to hit cinemas sometime in 2011.

Adam Lambert (Sort Of) Kissed A Girl ... And No One Could Stop Talking About It

The big gay news of the week is that one big gay icon did something not so gay and set the gay blogosphere abuzz. That's right, Adam Lambert posed for some racy pictures with a nekkid girl and the reaction of our readers was all over the place as demonstrated by the nearly 70 comments folks posted. Our follow-up poll the next day registered nearly 2,000 votes and generated another 50+ comments.

As for the poll results — it was a dead heat with 41% of folks loving the pics and 41% saying "Ew" and believing that someone was trying to give Adam a "hetero" make-over. I'll say one thing; you folks had a ton of passionate, mostly articulate things to say about the topic.

Personally, I see the whole issue as being a nice little zeitgeist-y moment in how we
