Ted Tally was born on April 9, 1952 as Theodore Tally. He is known for his work on The Silence of the Lambs (1991), Red Dragon (2002) and All the Pretty Horses (2000).

Writer who has made a career of adapting novels to the screen, having received aclaim for his adaptation of "Silence of the Lambs" and given the job of writting its 2002 pre-quel (remake) "Red Dragon."
His play, "Terra Nova," was nominated for a 1985 Joseph Jefferson Award for Play Production at the Wisdom Bridge Theatre in Chicago, Illinois.
His play, "Terra Nova" at the Mark Taper Forum Theatre in Los Angeles, California was awarded the 1979 Drama Logue Award for Outstanding Production.
He was awarded the 1979 Drama-Logue Award for Achievement in Playwriting for "Terra Nova" at the Mark Taper Forum Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
