Zelda had a keen interest in naturism, LGBT rights and psychic phenomena.
She ran the Erickson Educational Foundation, as founded by Reed Erickson, and managed the day-to-day operations alongside the LGBT activist Phyllis Saperstein (who she originally met at a naturist camp).
Zelda was once in charge of numerous naturist camps, usually with her then husband, Reed Suplee.
