Tiffany Haddish on 'SNL': 3 Sketches You Have to See

Tiffany Haddish on 'SNL': 3 Sketches You Have to See
After a subpar outing last week, Saturday Night Live produced what might have been its best episode of Season 43 this time around. A lot of that had to do with host Tiffany Haddish, who brought energy and excitement to each sketch. Even when the material wasn't terribly strong (especially post-"Weekend Update"), Haddish did her damnedest to keep things afloat.

Still, the hits far outweighed the misses this week. It's hard not to include sketches that involved surprise cameos from former cast members (Jason Sudeikis reprising his Joe Biden impression

Tiffany Haddish made her Saturday Night Live hosting debut this weekend — but was she ready? (Yes. The answer is yes.)

The Girls Trip breakout star returned to NBC on Saturday (What? You already forgot about my beloved Carmichael Show?) and brought with her an infectious energy that was felt throughout the broadcast. She probably gained quite a few fans with her humble, apolitical monologue, which spoke about what SNL meant to her while growing up in the foster care system. Best of all was her promise to turn up

‘Saturday Night Live’ Review: First-Time Host Tiffany Haddish Proves She Truly is Ready

‘Saturday Night Live’ Review: First-Time Host Tiffany Haddish Proves She Truly is Ready
Is it time? Because it feels like it’s time. Time for the official campaign for Tiffany Haddish’s Oscar nomination to begin, and what better place to begin than with a hosting gig on “Saturday Night Live?”

Tiffany Haddish’s performance in this year’s “Girls Trip” is absolutely worthy of Oscar attention — and her work on “The Carmichael Show” as well as her stand-up special “She Ready” definitely deserve praise too — and hosting “Saturday Night Live” is as declarative a statement as they come. Especially as the first African-American female stand-up comedian (yeah, neither Whoopi Goldberg nor Wanda Sykes have done this) to host in the series’ 43 seasons.

Host: Tiffany Haddish

Tiffany Haddish is just infectious positivity in comedy form, which is kind of necessary considering there’s still a question of what this season of “Saturday Night Live” wants to be outside of “a reminder that everything in the world is bonkers-slash-horrifying.

If You're a Fan of the Tiny-House Trend, You'll Love Matt Damon's New Movie

  • BuzzSugar
Have you ever wished that Honey, I Shrunk the Kids was a drama instead of a fun, family comedy? Well, you're in luck. Downsizing stars Matt Damon and Kristen Wiig as a middle-class couple who are offered the opportunity to "downsize" their lives, literally, after the technology to shrink human beings down to a few inches tall is invented. The concept alone is enough to make it one of Fall's most anticipated new movies, not to mention the all-star cast (which also includes Jason Sudeikis, Christoph Waltz, and Hong Chau). Suffice it to say, the tiny-house trend is shook. Watch the latest trailer above before Downsizing hits theaters on Dec. 25.

Producer of ‘Driven’ Reminisces About Filming in Hurricane-Torn Puerto Rico (Exclusive)
While at the Afm, London-based Embankment Films is kicking off sales on Nick Hamm’s “Driven,” an 1970s action-packed film with Jason Sudeikis and Lee Pace that wrapped shooting Nov. 2.

The film is inspired by the true story of an FBI operation that was conceived to bring down John DeLorean, the maverick auto executive who launches the DeLorean but was brought down in a drug scandal.

Piers Tempest, who is producing the film with Luillo Ruiz, told Variety that filming “Driven” turned out to be apocalyptic because it shot in Puerto Rico in between two hurricanes, Irma and Maria.

“Puerto Rico had not have a hurricane for eight years so I thought it would Ok. But first, Hurricane Irma came on during last week of pre-production and we had to fly back the non-resident crew members,” said Tempest.

Then, during the last week of shoot, when “category-5 Hurricane Maria hit, it really

Downsizing

Paramount Pictures has released a new trailer for their upcoming Alexander Payne film Downsizing, which releases in UK cinemas.

Matt Damon, Christoph Waltz, Hong Chau, Jason Sudeikis and Kristen Wiig are amongst the cast of the film, which opens early next year.

Downsizing imagines what might happen if, as a solution to over-population, Norwegian scientists discover how to shrink humans to five inches tall and propose a 200-year global transition from big to small. People soon realize how much further money goes in a miniaturized world, and with the promise of a better life, everyman Paul Safranek (Matt Damon) and wife Audrey (Kristen Wiig) decide to abandon their stressed lives in Omaha in order to get small and move to a new downsized community — a choice that triggers life-changing adventures.

Catch Downsizing in cinemas in the UK from January 19th 2018, and the new trailer below. Our full review of

Third Trailer for Alexander Payne's Human Shrinking Film 'Downsizing'

"Open your eyes. The world is filled with things to see." Paramount has debuted another official trailer for Alexander Payne's Downsizing, which has been playing at film festivals over the past few months. This social satire from Payne is a hugely ambitious film where the Norwegians have invented a method to shrink humans down to a very small size - about 4 inches. The story follows Matt Damon and Kristen Wiig as a married couple who decide to get the procedure in order to live a happier, better life in a tiny city – and save the environment while at it. The cast includes Christoph Waltz, Laura Dern, Jason Sudeikis, Neil Patrick Harris, Udo Kier, Kerri Kenney, and Hong Chau. If you're curious about it, or if you think it's a cool concept, I recommend seeing this. But it's probably not what you're expecting. Still, it's fun (at times). Here's the

There’s been a ton of cool news today, including new trailers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and The Disaster Artist! Definitely our favourite kind of day.

Firstly, the voice cast has officially been confirmed for Disney’s live-action remake of their hit The Lion King, and it is more perfect than we ever could have hoped for. Donald Glover will take on the role of Simba, with Nala being played by none other than Beyonce. Yes, you read that correctly. James Earl Jones (reprising his role as Mufasa), Chiwetel Ejiofor, John Oliver, Seth Rogen, and Keegan-Michael Key are also part of the impressive cast. The Lion King will hit theatres July 19th, 2019.

Critics Pick the Best Scripted Sports Shows Ever — IndieWire Survey
Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)

This week’s question: Which is your favorite scripted TV show about sports? Old and current shows are fair game.

June Thomas (@junethomas), Slate

I was a big fan of the Freeform show “Make It or Break It,” about the lives of a group of elite gymnasts working toward their dream of competing in the Olympics. Even typing that sentence, I know how hokey it sounds, and yes, it touched on all the clichés about women’s gymnastics – eating disorders, overburdened parents, inappropriate relationships with coaches – but you know what, all those things bubble up in the real sport with depressing regularity.

The show had more than its fair share
