Tom Hooper, Oscar-winning director of “The King’s Speech,” reportedly broke off his engagement to fashion designer Tara Subkoff, even though they’d only just recently celebrated their one-year anniversary. Sources tell the NY Post that Hooper recently left New York for London after Subkoff delivered some news.
She’s pregnant with his child.
“She took several home pregnancy tests,” after he left for London, the source says, and a doctor later confirmed the pregnancy.
Now it’s a matter of figuring out if Hooper knew about the pregnancy prior to the break up. “He broke up with her on Friday, and the last time they spoke was Saturday. Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman packed up their gear and caught a flight out of Lax yesterday afternoon. The couple had been on the West Coast for a few weeks while Anne took care of some movie business and caught up with friends. Anne presented Rachel Zoe with an award on Monday at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center benefit. The socializing came during a busy period for Anne. In addition to planning her wedding with Adam, she's also prepping for a new role. Anne will star in Les Miserables as Fantine alongside Hugh Jackman and Amanda Seyfried. The movie is to be directed by Academy Award-winning director Tom Hooper, who was the man behind The King's Speech. Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper is single again after breaking off his engagement, according to a U.S. report.
The King's Speech moviemaker is said to have met fashion designer Tara Subkoff during last year's Hollywood awards season and he reportedly proposed in Paris, France in May.
However, a new report suggests Hooper ended the relationship last weekend (21-22Jan12).
A source tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "They had just celebrated their one-year anniversary... He broke up with her on Friday, and the last time they spoke was Saturday...
