The Scoop: British up and comer Sturridge plays an unmotivated slacker obsessed with his childhood friend (Bilson) in this rom-com from character director Keach. Though Sturridge’s Will Donner prefers to live unemployed and loaf around in his pajamas, he does have one guiding light in his life; his firm and mostly unfounded belief that his actress gal pal Emma is destined to be his one true love. Ah, destiny.

Rachel Bilson pulled her carry-on bag and toted a LeSportSac headed to catch a flight out of Lax yesterday. She's been laying low home in La since rekindling her relationship with former fiancé Hayden Christensen last month. The couple hasn't commented on whether their wedding plans are back on, though they managed to avoid landing a spot in our 2010 year in breakups slideshow. She and Hayden have a complicated love story, though it's Robert Pattinson's real-life best friend Tom Sturridge who is romancing her in the trailer for Waiting for Forever. Next up on the big screen is Bff and Baby, which Rachel shot alongside Krysten Ritter in the Fall, and Bilson will be making her return to the small screen thanks to O.C. creator Josh Schwartz as well. The biggest problem with romantic movies these days is how typically shallow they are. Ninety percent of the time the movies are about two incredibly beautiful people falling in love, running into two or three obstacles, and then living happily ever after. Let's hope that Waiting For Forever doesn't fall into that same trap. MTV has premiered the first trailer for the film starring Rachel Bilson, Tom Sturridge, Blythe Danner and Richard Jenkins. In the film, Sturridge plays Will Donner, a young man who has been in love with his childhood sweetheart, Emma Twist (Bilson), his entire life, but hasn't seen her in years. Lost in the world without a real job, a car or a home, Will waits for the day that Emma will come back, and then she does. Check out the trailer below. Check back after for my reactions. Without having seen the film, I must say »
OK, so it's Christmas and maybe we should be kinder and nicer, but who are we kidding? When we see something like the trailer for the terribly named "Waiting For Forever," it brings our inner Scrooge to the surface. Directed by James Keach, whose biggest previous credit seems to be episodes of "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman," the film aims at girls aged between 10 and 12 and tells the story of Emma (Rachel Bilson) and Will (Tom Sturridge), two neighbors who were friends who reconnect years later, with Emma finding out that the top hat wearing doofus that lives next… »

My Thoughts: Somewhere in this trailer, I think there’s supposed to be a character that I care about… or at least I’m mildly interested in. Unfortunately, this mash up of puppy eyes, whining, and stalking just kinda leaves me with the desire to get a restraining order against the next person who compliments me. I mean, that’s what we’re supposed to take away, right? That guys (in this case Tom Sturridge) that are nice to you after, like, 20 years probably means that he wants to make a skin suit out of you.
I’m sure at some point this guy was supposed to appear sweet to me, but the creep factor never really left. But I also hafta say, I don’t entirely get the »

The trailer for Rachel Bilson‘s new movie, Waiting for Forever has finally been released online. Co-starring Tom Sturridge, Blythe Danner and Richard Jenkins, the story focuses on Emma (Bilson) and Will (Sturridge), two childhood best friends who lost touch many years ago, who are, in Will’s eyes at least, meant to be together. Sound like the perfect start to a romantic comedy?

Pattinson’s bestie plays Will Donner, who has loved Emma (Bilson) since… well, forever. But they were separated at age 10, and now he’s returned to their hometown to shake their relationship back up.
Well, if you know your romantic stories, you might already know the answer to that. But it’s not about the ending, it’s about the journey, and “Waiting For Forever” looks like it’s full of dreamy moments.
However, Will might be a guy who splits the female audience. »

Tom Sturridge is seizing the chance to win Rachel Bilson's heart after waiting for a long time. MTV's Hollywood Crush has got its hand on a brand new trailer for James Keach-directed indie romance, "Waiting For Forever", offering a look at Tom and Rachel as Will and Emma, childhood friends who meet again after a long time apart.
Best friends while they were growing up, Will and Emma lost touch a long time ago, that is as far as she knows. To Will, Emma never stopped being the most important person in his life. When her father gets sick, Emma returns to their hometown, trying to leave behind her complicated love life and failing career as a TV actress. And Will, who believes they are forever linked, tries to seize the opportunity.
Is Tom Sturridge following in the footsteps of his bud Robert Pattinson as a romantic leading man? We just saw Pattinson in the trailer for Water For Elephants, but now Sturridge steps up his game in this preview for Waiting For Forever. Sturridge stars as Will, a dreamer type who's still pining after the neighborhood girl from his childhood (Rachel Bilson). When they see each other years later, his feelings are still alive and well, but hers - not so much. In fact, she's engaged to another guy (Matt Davis of The Vampire Diaries!). The cast of this is actually pretty good (Blythe Danner and Richard Jenkins have supporting roles), but I can't get beyond Will's hat-and-earring combo and what appear to be pajamas. Is it just me, or does he have a whole Pretty in Pink Duckie vibe going on? Also, his advances come across as a little creepy. »

Robert Pattinson (photos) probably wishes he could take back the interview he did with Top of the Pops magazine where he confessed that his childhood dream was to rap like Eminem. The interview is actually quite adorable but feature a few key points that, while thoroughly entertaining, might make life difficult for him. Allow us to break it down for you by quote: 1. First off, Pattinson says “I’ve got a whole collection of tapes of me rapping from when I was 13! I wanted to be a rapper so there are hundreds and hundreds of tapes. They’re very amusing!” Adorable anecdote, but we now fear that Robert’s garbage will be the subject of some rooting around. Hundreds of tapes of a 13-year-old Pattinson rapping? Who wouldn’t want to get their hands on those, make thousands of copies and then put them on eBay? Certainly not crazed Twilight fans, »

Waiting For Forever is the story of Will (wonderfully played by Tom Sturridge), a drifter with a long love for Emma (Rachel Bilson), and what happens when he meets her after years apart. It’s a low-key film that tugs at the heartstrings, but the final half hour fails to really convince. But the performances are very strong (Sturridge, Bilson, and Scott Mechlowitz as Will’s realist older brother are first rate), and the movie is well-made. It’s a movie that is caught between realism and Hollywood fantasy, but it’s worth checking out.
Waiting For Forever will play during the 19th Annual Stella Artois St. Louis International Film Festival on Saturday, November 13th at 7:00 pm in the Winifred Moore Auditorium on the Webster University campus.

Carey Mulligan had yesterday off from shooting Drive with her costar Ryan Gosling, so she took the afternoon to visit a friend's house in La. She was spotted on her way out smiling and giving her pal a hug, though there was no sign of her rumored boyfriend Tom Sturridge. Carey's had lots of enviable male company lately, whether on or off set, and she is apparently especially fond of working with Ryan. She spent an evening last week alongside Britannia Award winner Michael Sheen, then she participated in a roundtable discussion with her fellow young actors Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield. “I’ve always been a huge action film fan and a couple of friends of mine were in marriage therapy,” explained screenwriter Simon Kingberg as to the origins of Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005). “The way they were talking about it sounded kind of aggressive and mercenary. I just thought it would make an interesting template for a relationship inside of an action film.” Mayhem and chaos ensues when two married assassins are contracted to kill each other. “One of the ways that you write it is that all of the action sequences in the film have to be, in some form, expressions of where these characters are in their marriage… Instead of two people having a fight at the dinner table about the salt, »
Kirsten Dunst cozied up to her boyfriend, Jason Boesel, yesterday as they waited for coffees in La. It was a rare Pda from the pair, who tend to be low-key about their romance while out in public. Kirsten and Jason are together again in California following her Summer spent in Canada shooting both The Road, alongside Kristen Stewart and Tom Sturridge, and Upside Down with Jim Sturridge. Her next project to hit the big screen is All Good Things, which continues her trend of having a hot leading man with costar Ryan Gosling. View 2 Photos › »

Dakota Fanning and Carey Mulligan sandwiched Michael Sheen last night at BAFTA's annual Britannia Awards in La. His real-life leading lady, Rachel McAdams, wasn't able to attend, but mustached Michael still flashed a big smile with his British Artist of the Year statue. Dakota kept her high-fashion outfits coming in her nude Valentino - what do you make of her look? Carey, who was recently named the best-dressed star by Harper's Bazaar UK, wore a number from Preen, looking more polished than her low-key days shooting Drive with Ryan Gosling. She likewise flew solo without rumored boyfriend Tom Sturridge, but Carey had a different guy friend for company last weekend in NYC. Carey Mulligan couldn't contain her giggles filming with Ryan Gosling on the set of Drive in La yesterday as the independent movie got the big news that it's been acquired by FilmDistrict. Ryan's quirky and endearing personality shines between takes, and we couldn't help but do a bit of fantasy casting for him in the wake of the Sf Giants World Series win this week. Ryan still has two projects coming out before the end of the year, All Good Things with Kirsten Dunst and Blue Valentine alongside Michelle Williams. The producer of the latter recently said they're not going to reedit to lose the Nc-17 rating but will appeal the MPAA's decision. Carey is back to work after getting a big hug goodbye from Ryan on Friday and taking a few days off, during which she popped up in NYC with a guy friend. Of course, there could be »
