December Movie Trailer Round Up

31 December 2010 4:00 AM, PST | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

This month has been one of the best that I can remember for trailers. All the studios were desperate for their trailer to get released before the Christmas holidays and we were inundated with posts. Since I love trailers so much, the inundation was most welcome. In what I am considering making a monthly post, here’s a roundup of all the trailers so far for December which I have embedded below for your viewing pleasure!

I’ve embedded them in the order in which they were released start December 1st to 31st and if I miss any, please let me know and I’ll update the post.

I really want this to be intereactive so make sure you tell us which trailers you liked the best and which you think will be great or terrible movies from what you’ve seen! So, let’s go!

New Still For Three Musketeers Online

29 December 2010 6:59 AM, PST | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »

Well, here's a thing: Paul W. S. Anderson's Three Musketeers, and hanger on D'Artagnan, look just like they oughta. The first official still from the film shows the swashbuckling quartet just hangin' out, lookin' all dashing. From left to right, that's Matthew Mcfadyen as Athos, the quiet, brooding leader of the trio; Percy Jackson's Logan Lerman as would-be musketeer D'Artagnan, looking impossibly young and naive next to the others (no bad thing, that); Ray Stevenson as the hard drinking, hard living Porthos and Luke Evans as ladies' man / man of God Aramis. Now of course this is only a still, and the proof will be in the actual, y'know, storytelling. But the casting here looks spot on, and is mildly encouraging. Not pictured are Milla Jovovich as Milady, Mads Mikkelsen's Rochefort and Orlando Bloom's Duke of Buckingham. The results are due to hit next October 14. In 3D, inevitably. »

First Official Image of The Three Musketeers

28 December 2010 11:23 AM, PST | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

If author Alexandre Dumas had lived to see his 19th century novel The Three Musketeers adapted into a movie, we're sure that he would be pleased to have Death Race and Resident Evil: Afterlife director Paul W.S. Anderson transforming his swashbuckling adventure into a 3-D movie that promises to be "rich in eye-popping action, romance, and adventure." Photos from the Bamburg, Germany, set were released in August, but ComingSoon has the first official image of the movie, depicting the movie's heroes of Aramis (Matthew Macfayden), D'Artagnan (Logan Lerman), Porthos (Ray Stevenson), and Athos (Luke Evans). The movie, as well as the book, sees the young D'Artagnan join forces with the Musketeers to stop Cardinal Richelieu (Christoph Waltz) from seizing the French throne.

The Three Musketeers opens on October 14, 2011. Milla Jovovich co-stars as Milady de Winter, Orlando Bloom plays the Duke of Buckingham, and Mads Mikkelssen plays the evil Rochefort.

First 3 Musketeers Pic

The Three Musketeers. In 3D. Directed by Paul Ws Anderson. Those words should be enough to send any self respecting critic or film lover running for the hills. But not this guy! Hey, Resident Evil: Afterlife was a lot of fun. As was Anderson's remake of Roger Corman's Death Race. His style is flashy, loud and in your face, but unlike a lot of other filmmakers of his caliber, he knows that. He doesn't tell endless half-truth's to on-set journalists about how his film is going to have groundbreaking emotional performances and wonderful artistic resonance. Nope, Paul Anderson knows he makes entertaining crap. And I like him for that. But enough of that, Total Film got a hold of the first official picture of the flick. In the photo we can see Logan Lerman, Mads Mikkelsen, Ray Stevenson and Luke Evans. The film is currently set for a October 14th, »

New ‘Three Musketeers’ Thankfully Resemble the Three Musketeers

27 December 2010 10:31 AM, PST | NextMovie | See recent NextMovie news »

Straight from the factory line that spit out the cash-in forquel “Resident Evil: Afterlife,” director Paul W.S. Anderson is back with a 3-D adaptation of the classic Alexandre Dumas novel, “The Three Musketeers.” Total Film has the first photo from the period action movie and…well, it certainly looks like a “Musketeers” movie.

We’re cautious – when Anderson, director of “Mortal Kombat,” “Alien vs. Predator” and “Death Race,”  is at the wheel, even setting it in the right century deserves a thumbs up and a sigh of relief.

Snarking aside, there are reasons to be hopeful for “Musketeers.” Anderson may approach storytelling like Jackson Pollock on ecstasy, but every so often he gets something right. In the case of “Resident Evil: Afterlife,” it was the eye-popping 3-D. Shoot long swords and floppy, 17th cenutry hats with top-notch 3-D cameras and you’re already halfway to a winner.

First 2D Look At 3D 'The Three Musketeers'

After Milla Jovovich tweeted some behind the scenes costume photos earlier in the year, we now have our first official look at the forthcoming 3D "The Three Musketeers" directed by cinematic auteur Paul W.S. Anderson ("Death Race," "Resident Evil"). Actually filmed in 3D (whoa!) and not given some shitty post-production treatment, the film stars a surprisingly halfway decent cast including Christoph Waltz, Mads Mikkelsen, James Corden, Orlando Bloom, Matthew Macfadyen, Logan Lerman, Ray Stevenson, Luke Evans and the aforementioned Jovovich in a re-imagining of the Alexandre Dumas novel that will tell the story of the "the hot-headed young D'Artagnan [as… »

It's a real action shot! If you think walking is "action".

We're still a little surprised that directing wunderkind Paul W.S. Anderson is following up his successful Resident Evil: Afterlife with an adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' The Three Musketeers, but ComingSoon has the first official image depicting Matthew Macfadyen, Logan Lerman, Ray Stevenson and Luke Evans as Athos, D'Artagnan, Prothos, and Aramis, respectively.

Don't worry Re fans, Milla Jovovich will also appear in Anderson's foray into cinematic literature, which will follow the legendary swordsmen in a 3-D adventure about stopping the evil Cardinal Richelieu from taking the French throne and starting a war in Europe.

The Three Musketeers opens October 14, 2011.

Never one to shy away from borrowing someone else.s franchise, Paul W.S. Anderson is working on a new version of The Three Musketeers. It.s been at least five minutes since someone has done one, so I guess we.re due. If you.re wondering what will set this apart from all the other Three Musketeers movies you.ve seen, well maybe this will provide some sort of clue. Summit Entertainment has just released the first ever official photos from The Three Musketeers. Judging from the picture, the big difference this time would seem to be that one of the Musketeers is a girl. Wait, sorry. That was incorrect. I.ve just been told that girl is Logan Lerman. Pictured below from left to right is Matthew MacFayden, Logan Lerman, Ray Stevenson, and Luke Evans. Click the image to see his feminine good looks in high-res. Also in »
