The directors of 'Zero Charisma' talk about their Dungeons and Dragons-themed comedy

In the Dungeons and Dragons-themed Zero Charisma (which comes out tomorrow, and is also available on VOD) a socially awkward D&D obsessive called Scott (Sam Eidson) loses both his role-playing game and his friends to a suave hipster-type, Miles (Garrett Graham), with darkly comedic consequences. The film’s writer and co-director Andrew Matthews was inspired to make the film by his own history as a gamer and ‘Dungeon Master.’

After the cult success of Best Worst Movie, Michael Stephenson returns with the Louis-Theroux style documentary The American Scream, following the lives of people obsessed with Halloween and the scaring that comes with it.

The movie focuses on three families within in the same neighbourhood who all share the same passion - redecorating their abodes on October 31st to become haunted houses which their neighbours can then come and visit. Stephenson doesn't shy away from the eccentricity of his subjects, nor does he gloss over the fact that this can be a very expensive and damaging hobby - to both the families and bank balances.

Amber Tamblyn has joined the cast of Michael Stephenson's Girlfriend's Day. Bob Odenkirk penned the script and stars as Ray, a has-been greeting card writer. In trying to recapture the feelings that once made him the greatest, Ray gets entangled in a web of murder and deceit as writers vie to create the perfect card for a new holiday: Girlfriend's Day.

Tamblyn will play opposite of Odenkirk as an offbeat "Cardie" (fan of greeting card writers) whose involvement with Ray revives his seemingly lost talent.

Bob Odenkirk to Write and Star in Girlfriend's Day

Magic Stone Productions and Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment have announced they will produce Bob Odenkirk's feature, Girlfriend's Day. Odenkirk (Breaking Bad,Mr. Show with Bob and David, Nebraska) penned the script and will star in the film. Michael Stephenson (Best Worst Movie, The American Scream) will direct. Girlfriend's Day will serve as Stephenson's narrative directorial debut.

Here's what Bob Odenkirk had to say about his comedy project.

"Girlfriend's Day is an offbeat comedy, but the characters are full of heart, searching for love and connection. Michael's documentaries feature the same kind of likable offbeat characters, and I can't wait to make this film."
