The Flash Recaplet: Good Buzz?

14 April 2015 6:14 PM, PDT | | See recent news »

I wasn’t planning to write about The Flash this week, due to a lotta other TV going on this Tuesday night, but the episode was so especially (and surpris- ingly?) entertaining, it begged for comment.

Pucker up, because the 2015 MTV Movie Awards are just a few days away. And what the Best Picture Oscar is to the Academy Awards, the coveted Best Kiss popcorn trophy is to the MTV Movie Awards.

The most anticipated (and not to mention, sexiest) award of them all has some serious contenders this year, including Shailene Woodly and Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars), James Franco and Seth Rogen (The Interview), Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), and Rose Byrne and Halston Sage (Neighbors).

We won’t find out which smooching duo will join the ranks of MTV Movie Awards history until Sunday, so we decided to honor the previous winners that paved the way for them. From seriously steamy kisses to romantic pecks to hilariously over-the-top make-out sessions, we’ve ranked the best and worst »

Gene Simmons, WWE Teaming for Horror Movies

26 March 2015 6:34 PM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

WWE Studios has formed a partnership with Gene Simmons to launch label Erebus Pictures to finance and produce movies.

The alliance is launching with a three-picture co-production deal starting with”Temple,” originally acquired and developed by WWE Studios.

The moniker Erebus is taken from the Greek God “representing the personification of darkness.” It will sell worldwide rights on all titles and use WWE’s TV shows, including “Monday Night Raw” and “SmackDown,” along with digital, social media and the WWE Network, to market its titles.

“The horror genre continues to fascinate me as it proves to be endlessly thrilling and engaging for audiences,” said Simmons, who has been in rock group Kiss for four decades.

“Horror films fall into a genre that thrives on genuine passion, and I believe this partnership truly capitalizes on that sentiment and supports our vision,” said Michael Luisi, president of WWE Studios.

Watch a Fan ask James Franco to Prom -- Did He Say 'Yes'?!

5 March 2015 3:27 PM, PST | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

It’s no secret that people all around the world have crushes on James Franco, but one teen took her love for the actor to a whole new (and adorable) level – by asking the actor to prom!

The ambitious student, Bianca Figueroa, first uploaded her “promposal” to YouTube and then posted a snippet to her Instagram account writing, “My senior prom is April 18th. I am a huge @jamesfrancotv fan and it would be my dream and make my entire life if he were to go with me. So please share this and tag him a million times! Lol use the hashtag#FrancoPromposal”

In her creative video, she proves how much she adores the 36-year-old actor by referencing several of his famous roles – including Oz in The Wizard of Oz and Danny Desario in the television hit “Freaks and Geeks.”

Oscar Nominees Groove On The Gray At Aarp ‘Movies For Grownups’ Awards Gala

3 February 2015 3:24 PM, PST | Deadline | See recent Deadline news »

Monday was a very busy day for Oscar nominees. Aside from the main event that I covered in detail yesterday, the Oscar Nominees luncheon, a couple of trade sites poached the Academy’s large turnout for nighttime parties offering yet more photo ops. The bigger names usually walk down the carpets at those things, head through the door, grab a piece of pizza and head to the exit. Anything to keep your name out front and your face in front of voters at a crucial time. And since there are lots of nominees who come into town just for the luncheon, their handlers make them available for one last late-night talk show appearance before voting starts.

That’s why you saw Michael Keaton and Jimmy Fallon (who brought his Tonight Show to Hollywood for the week) doing readings of Birdman scripts as submitted by 6-year-olds. And that’s why you »

Film Feature: The Top 10 Celebrity Photos of 2014, By Joe Arce

20 January 2015 1:41 PM, PST | | See recent news »

Chicago – In a year where shoots with perpetual photo fashionistas like Cindy Crawford and Sarah Jessica Parker still failed to crack the Top Ten list of biggest celebrity photo-ops, you know 2014 was a very good year for and myself, Joe Arce, as Senior Staff Photographer.

Narrowing down the 182 celebrity subjects that posed for my lens last year to a mere ten favorite portraits is not an easy task. Nonetheless, here are my Top Ten picks for biggest celebrity shoots of 2014. I based this on a combination of star power wattage of the subjects, the artistic results and the degree of difficulty in landing the quarry – for those iPhone carrying budding celebrity stalkers who may wish to play along at home.
