Damon Salvatore found his modern day homecoming wasn't what he expected on "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6, after learning girlfriend Elena Gilbert had no memory of their romance.
"Imagine you're away for four months… you come back and the one woman you want to be with… not even doesn't remember you, remembers nothing, only the bad sh** like, you didn't put the toilet seat down or you slept with her sister, or like all the bad things you may have done, she knows, and so that's going to be invariably difficult to recover from," Ian Somerhalder told reporters on ...

"Promise me this is forever."
And with five little words, two super attractive vampires, and one rain-soaked make-out session — the entire Delena fandom erupted into ecstatic cheers after last Thursday's episode of The Vampire Diaries.
This was a moment that Tvd fans have been desperately requesting for years, and we've got the behind-the-scenes scoop from creator Julie Plec about why it was finally time to "honor" the fans with this ultra-romantic Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) moment.
News: Nina Dobrev Spills If There's Hope For Delena!
ETonline caught up with Plec on the set of The Originals in Atlanta on Tuesday, and the showrunner spilled that the desire for a Delena rain kiss actually originated in the series' very first season.
"So this was born out of… when Stefan got kidnapped in season one and Damon and Elena — who heretofore hadn't worked together much — had to go and rescue Stefan from the vampire house, from Fredrick »
The Vampire Diaries has improved greatly since it started paying attention to things that aren't Damon and Elena's lovelife...
This review contains spoilers.
6.7 Do You Remember The First Time?
The return of Damon to The Vampire Diaries’ A-plot two weeks ago brought with it the return of Delena, but this time with an added complication that meant the show’s former golden couple wouldn’t be able to enjoy the happy reunion a certain section of fans were hankering after. The good and bad thing about this is that, while they were separated, Vampire Diaries got good again, and there’s so much more to the show in its current form than love triangles and tired romantic pining.
I say that’s a good and a bad thing because, while the non-Elena parts of these past few episodes have provided a nice distraction from the same-iness of the Delena plotline, »

Throughout the night, the twosome sat next to each other as the event honored those who help child victims of sex slavery. "He looked enamored and crazy in love with her," a source told E! News. "They couldn't keep their hands off each other." And while Reed spoke onstage, her »
Now that Ian Somerhalder’s Damon is back, Paul Welsey’s Stefan sort of has his partner in crime back. While Damon was on the other side, Alaric filled in those shoes. Ian Somerhalder wasn’t kidding when he teased that this season will be reminiscent of The Vampire Diaries’ early years. It’s definitely been a while since we’ve had one of those crucial “wait, what does this mean?!” moments before a commercial break. Even the last season finale when Damon and Bonnie were stuck on the Other Side, you knew in the back of your mind that they’d find a loophole and survive. That’s what everyone on this show does best: cheat death. When several characters found themselves in danger in this episode, they relied on their trusty magic to save them. Only one person surprised me, and her actions have changed the course of the season in my mind. Last week Alaric tried and failed to compel Jo after the disastrous corn maze accident. I had her pegged as a simple love interest for Alaric that »

Tonight’s episode of The Vampire Diaries should have been magical. Fans should have finally gotten the reunion between Elena and Damon they deserved. There should have been tears of joy and metaphoric fireworks. But, it never really works like that on your favorite television show, does it?
Although it wasn’t an all out loss for fans, Tvd definitely skirted the edge of obnoxious. Fans waited for years to see Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) finally get together and now it seems that their short-lived romance has taken a turn for the worse yet again. Worse than Damon dying and being stuck in 1994 indefinitely, if you can believe that. And worse still, “The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get” was more of a predictable nightmare than anything else.
As the credits rolled, a wave of disappointment began to roll in. Did the writers really just »
