It's confirmed, The CW will put the stake in The Vampire Diaries after season 8...

Sdcc 2016: The sun is rising on Mystic Falls and the bloodsuckers are skipping town. The CW is cutting off the head of The Vampire Diaries, stuffing garlic down its throat and burying it upside down so it doesn’t claw its way back to the surface. “This will be the final bad,” writer Kevin Williamson told The Vampire Diaries panel audience on Saturday.

“It’s so rare for a show to get to last this long, and what a privilege that Mark Pedowitz and Peter Roth have allowed us to choose the time to end the journey on our own creative terms,” executive producer Julie Plec said. “It’s been eight of the best years of my life. »

“I’ve never been too far away. … As Julie and I sat down to write the first episode of Season 8 together, I was freaking out. … Julie was like, ‘You write all the Damon stuff.’ It came back pretty quickly, and I think we’ve got a great Season 8 planned out. The Vampire Diaries: Concluding After Season 8!

23 July 2016 12:30 PM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

The Vampire Diaries is finally coming to an end.

Julie Plec confirmed the news at the San Diego Comic-Con panel for the show.

The Vampire Diaries Season 7 concluded in very ominous fashion.

Damon and Enzo were pretty much consumed by darkness and working with whatever the heck came out of the vault.

Didn't anyone ever tell them that nothing good ever comes out of vaults?

The CW series managed to get a new lease of life when Nina Dobrev departed at the conclusion of The Vampire Diaries Season 6.

Julie Plec has made it common knowledge that she fully expects Nina Dobrev to appear one last time on the series.

Elena may be having a long nap, but expect her to pop back up for some Delena goodness before the series signs off for good.

The news that the show is coming to a close doesn't come as much of a shock. »
