10 April 2014 12:25 PM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

It's a TV tale as old as time: the Bf (or Gf) and the Bff. Though The Vampire Diaries originally started off being all about the love triangle between Elena (Nina Dobrev), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder), a new fan favorite pairing has emerged after five seasons: Stefan and Caroline (Candice Accola), Elena's Bff who has always been Team Stefan. While the pair has shared a close friendship since the beginning of season two, their scenes in season five have been tinged with romantic chemistry, exciting the faction of fans who love "Steroline." (We admit to occasionally booking a trip or two on this 'ship.) But is a romance actually in the cards for Stefan and Caroline (a la Pacey »

I got a chance to talk to Ian Somerhalder at PaleyFest last week, and I had to ask him about whether or not Damon and Elena's relationship on "The Vampire Diaries" was as toxic as the characters seemed to think it was. Ian had his own take on it, and about that toxic comment? Well, watch the clip. He had his own take on friends with benefits, too, if you're wondering. The Vampire Diaries Review: “Rescue Me” (Season 5, Episode 17)

28 March 2014 9:43 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Elena (Nina Dobrev) has been back to being herself for all of five minutes at this point and she’s already being scrutinized for her poor parenting skills. The Vampire Diaries didn’t waste anytime jumping right back into the personal drama that surrounds this recent high school grad/vampire/doppelgänger. Elena stepped right out of the back of her mind and right into a continuous string of uncomfortable situations.

On last week’s episode, Elena was plagued with wanting to eat (literally) all of her vampire friends. That included her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Damon (Ian Somerhalder), who was also experiencing the same sort of disease-induced munchies. Caroline (Candice Accola) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) were able to make a deal with the travelers in order to acquire the cure (more on that later), but that’s not where Elena’s problems end. After making it through yet another ordeal of supernatural proportions, »

'The Vampire Diaries': Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder tease Damon and Elena's 'friends with benefits' experiment and more

Even though Elena and Damon tried to break up at the end of last week's episode of "The Vampire Diaries," it's pretty safe to say that it didn't stick seeing as how the two vampires fell right back into bed with each other the next second. The biggest question on everyone's mind: Is Delena broken up or back together?

Neither, it would seem. That's right, Elena and Damon are going to try being friends with benefits, although "Tvd" star Ian Somerhalder doesn't have the highest of hopes for that experiment. "Friends with benefits never ultimately work," Somerhalder tells Zap2it. "They are wonderful for a spell. But hey, you never know."

His co-star Nina Dobrev feels the same way. "Well, we've all seen the movie 'Friends With Benefits' with Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake, right?" Dobrev tells Zap2it. "Everyone always goes into that whole arrangement with optimistic »

‘Noah’ Star Russell Crowe Breaks His Silence About Meeting the Pope

Russell Crowe broke his silence about his much-publicized trip to Vatican City last week, sharing details with Variety about why it was so important for him to visit Pope Francis.

Crowe, who had been tweeting the Pope about his upcoming Biblical adventure for weeks, landed in Rome on March 19, along with director Darren Aronofsky and Paramount vice chairman Rob Moore. Studio executives had hoped the trip would serve as a photo-op, but an actual photograph of Crowe and the Pope never surfaced.

Instead, the “Noah” team received seats in the VIP section of St. Peter’s Square, along with thousands of others, to listen to the Pontiff’s fatherhood sermon, which fell on Father’s Day in Rome. Crowe wouldn’t say if he exchanged any words with the Pope.

“Look man, I don’t really want to keep going around in that circle, because the thing that was most »
