Our American friends are celebrating Mothers Day tomorrow and in honour of mothers everywhere, Columbia Pictures have released this rather sweet CinemaMosaic with a special message from everybodys favorite telekinetic teen Carrie White. Synopsis: The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White (Moore) and her daughter Carrie (Moretz). Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin (Greer) tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson (Portia Doubleday), but only Chris' best friend, Sue Snell (Gabriella Wilde), regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross (Ansel Elgort), to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc. Brian De Palma’s 1976 film version of "Carrie" earned Oscar. »

Bloody UK Poster for Carrie

24 April 2013 3:30 PM, PDT | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Carrie is all about the blood. So I imagine almost every piece of marketing material we're going to see from the film will feature Chloe Moretz as the title character covered in blood. There's that pivotal point in the story where she gets a bucket full of pigs blood dumped on her head, which sets her off and she ends up going on a horrifically deadly killing spree with the powers of her mind.

The new adaptation was directed by Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don't CryStop-Loss) and also stars Julianne MooreJudy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Alex Russell, Gabriella Wilde, and Ansel Elgort. It's set to be released on October 18th, 2013. Click here to watch the latest trailer.

Bloody New 'Carrie' Poster and Pictures

24 April 2013 7:42 AM, PDT | Rope of Silicon | See recent Rope Of Silicon news »

Carrie was originally expected to be in theaters over a month ago, but Screen Gems rightly decided to avoid confrontation with Evil Dead and shifted it to mid-October where it resides smack dab in-between Spike Lee's Oldboy and Paranormal Activity 5. One, if not two, of those films is looking to fail as the marketplace can only sustain so much violence and scares. While the three films aren't exactly equals, I just can't imagine all three finding success so close together. Moving along... With the date shift I'm sure Screen Gems has plenty of marketing to offer given the fact they were prepped for an early year release and now have an additional seven months to continue the awareness campaign. Today I have a few updates for you including two pictures and a bloody new poster (via Empire). Carrie is a new adaptation of the Stephen King novel of the »

Two New Photos from Carrie

23 April 2013 1:00 AM, PDT | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

First of all, if you still haven't seen the original feature film adaptation of Stephen King's Carrie, you need to go watch it now. As good as this remake looks I still don't think it will live up to the horrific creepiness of the first one.

The studio has released a couple of new images from the film. One features Chloe Moretz drenched in pigs blood, which I know we've seen before. The second one features Moretz and her crazy mother played by Julianne Moore. Even though it won't be as good as the first movie, it still looks like the remake will be an entertaining horror flick!

The new adaptation was directed by Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don't CryStop-Loss) and also stars Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Alex Russell, Gabriella Wilde, and Ansel Elgort. It's set to be released on October 18th, 2013.

Carrie trailer

4 April 2013 5:57 PM, PDT | www.themoviebit.com | See recent TheMovieBit news »

A full length trailer for Kimberly Pierce's Carrie has been unveiled, and while I'm a huge fan of the original movie and novel, this remake seems to be pushing all the right buttons so far. It may give too much away, but then again, Carrie is such a well known story that maybe it's just giving people what they want to see. The scenes of Prom destruction look suitably epic (even though that last shot of Chloe Garce Moretz just looks weird), and there seems to be spot on performance across the board. This should be one to watch out for. Synopsis: The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White (Moore) and her daughter Carrie (Moretz).
