Danny Smith was born in Montreal, October 2, 1973, but moved to Pickering, Ontario at the age of seven.

After high school, he spent a over a year performing theater at Stage West. He was accepted into AMDA (American Musical and Dramatic Academy) in New York City, but did not accept. He instead went on to study and perform improvisational comedy at The Second City (Toronto), one of his teachers being SCTV's Joe Flaherty. This led to television ("It's Alive!", "Big Wolf on Campus" where he also wrote and performed the theme song, as well as scoring scenes in various episodes) and film roles ("National Lampoon's Senior Trip", "Strike" and "The Big Hit").

In 2000, he was one of eight men flown to New York City to audition for Saturday Night Live, exclusively for Lorne Michaels.

Danny lives in Toronto and in Los Angeles where he was the lead singer/songwriter/guitarist/pianist for the Sony Records-signed band The City Drive, who have opened for Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Goo Goo Dolls and Hoobastank.

In 2006, Danny started 1888, a clothing company which donates 50% of their proceeds to the NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council.)

In 2009, he appeared in NBC's "The Listener" and the film "Suck" which won critical acclaim at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Danny appeared on the game show "The Price is Right" on March 27, 2001. He won throughout the show including the "Showcase Showdown" where he took home lots of cash and prizes, including a car.

Did McDonald's Canada commercials (March, 2009).

Danny's songs have been featured in the films "American Pie: Band Camp" and "Yours, Mine & Ours", and the TV show "Celebrity Poker Showdown".

Won the Montreal Mirror "Best Actor" and "Most Desirable Male" awards in 2001.
