That’s one way to look at the relationship between David Letterman and Conan O’Brien, who reunite tonight on Letterman’s program. The then-unproven O’Brien succeeded Letterman on Late Night in 1993, and later they were head-to-head rivals for seven months during O’Brien’s brief and tumultuous reign as host of The Tonight Show. Both men, at similar points in their television careers, found themselves grasping the short end of the stick in passive-aggressive tangles with Jay Leno and downright hostile relations with NBC over late-night’s showcase program.

Universal has debuted the first trailer for This is 40, Judd Apatow's "sort-of" sequel to Knocked Up bringing back Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann as Pete and Debbie and simply presenting a comedy dealing with their current state of life. The film co-stars a healthy supporting cast including Megan Fox, John Lithgow, Iris Apatow, Maude Apatow, Melissa McCarthy, Robert Smigel, Charlene Yi and Albert Brooks, but there is no mention of Seth Rogen or Katherine Heigl, the stars of the first film. Here comes This Is 40, Judd Apatow‘s self-confessed “sort-of sequel” to Knocked Up, and while it looks like Paul Rudd‘s Pete and Leslie Mann‘s Debbie have sufficiently ironed out their relationship issues, pretty much everything else seems to be falling apart around them. Mortified by their imminent aging (Debbie, in particular, refuses to accept that she’s now turning the big 4-0), the pair embark on a new way of life, thanks to Debbie’s “do better” list. As the film’s first trailer shows us, they have plenty to do when it comes to doing better. They’ll work out! They’ll stand up to bullies! They will make their kids spend more time outside! When I met with Jack Black at a Midtown Manhattan hotel, he was fighting a sore throat. Black's under the weather demeanor, lounging on the couch in what can be best described as "I'm sick, so I want to be comfortable" attire, gave the entire proceeding a sense of informality. An informality that resulted in (A) Black all but admitting that he wanted to talk about other subjects than the film he was promoting, "Bernie," and (B) me feeling so comfortable that I openly admitted my disdain for Black's 2009 film, "Gulliver's Travels" -- which I immediately regretted.

"Conan" will shoot for a week in Chicago this summer to kick off the TBS Just for Laughs Chicago Comedy Special, the network announced Tuesday. The show, which shoots at Warner Bros. studios in Burbank, also went on the road to record a week of episodes in New York last summer.
