With no major new, wide releases opening over the weekend, there is a brief moment of calm at the multiplex before things get really crazy for the rest of December. And it’s the perfect opportunity to catch the animated “Nerdland” on the big screen.

On Tuesday, December 6th Fathom Events will be hosting a special event screening of the movie that features the voices of Paul Rudd, Patton Oswalt, Hannibal Buress, Reid Scott, Mike Judge, Riki Lindhome, Kate Micucci, Laraine Newman, Brendon Small, John Ennis, and Paul Scheer, that tells the story of two friends and aspiring actors who are determined to enter their 30s with a taste of fame.

Paul Rudd and Patton Oswalt Want to Live in Infamy in First Trailer for ‘Nerdland’

As the writer of Se7en and 8mm, one might not expect Andrew Kevin Walker to write an animated comedy featuring some of today’s top talent in the field, but here we are. Directed by Chris Prynoski, Nerdland follows two slackers who are attempting to make it big in Hollywood in unusal ways. Featuring the huge voice cast of Paul Rudd, Patton Oswalt, Hannibal Buress, Reid Scott, Mike Judge, Riki Lindhome, Kate Micucci, Laraine Newman, Brendon Small, John Ennis, and Paul Scheer, the first trailer has now arrived.

We said in our review, “Providing an escape valve for Andrew Kevin Walker, known for far more serious films about would-be serial killers (8Mm, Seven), Nerdland is an almost biting commentary on Hollywood that would appear to be more at home on the small screen (had it not been crudely drawn for Cinemascope).” Judging from the trailer, if one is a fan of Bojack Horseman, »

Be warned, Dethklok fans: Adult Swim has heard your cries, and their response is brutal. For the past two years, Brendon Small has been trying to get his gruesome animated comedy ‘Metalocalypse’ picked up for a fifth and final season. The series ended in a cliffhanger with the 2013 musical special, “The Doomstar Requiem,” which saw the dark prophecies surrounding the wildly popular but incompetent death metal band Dethklok finally come to life. With Charles Offdensen no longer their manager and Murderface corrupted by an evil force, Small had planned to wrap things up with six final episodes, including a series finale called “Army. »
