Karl Sloboda(1875-1929)

Karl Sloboda is mostly remembered today through the film adaptations of
his plays, "Tea For Three" and "Infernal Machine". Sloboda was a one
time successful Austrian-Hungarian playwright who lost his fortune
during the periods of high inflation that plagued post World War One
Europe. Unable find backers for his new plays and living in extreme
poverty; Sloboda succumbed to malnutrition in March of 1929.
