Leo Slezak was born on August 18, 1873 in Mährisch-Schönberg, Austria-Hungary. He was an actor, known for Zirkus Saran (1935), Husaren heraus (1937) and Alles für Gloria (1941). He was married to Elisabeth Wertheim. He died on June 1, 1946 in Rottach-Egern, Bavaria, Germany.

Father of actor Walter Slezak and Margarete Slezak.
Grandfather of Erika Slezak.
Ensemble member of the Berlin State Opera (1898-1900), the Vienna State Opera (1901-1926). Retired from opera in 1934 to devote his time to film acting.
First known as an operatic tenor, especially renowned for his Wagnerian work, he would eventually quit singing and become a comedian in Austrian films.
