Marvel's 'Ant-Man' Trailer Is Coming Soon

23 December 2014 5:09 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Before Guardians of the Galaxy hit theaters, everyone thought it was a huge risk for Marvel. Fans proved that notion wrong, as the movie went onto become the biggest release of 2014. Its doubtful that Ant-Man will fare as well, since it is being released alongside Disney's two juggernauts Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Avengers: Age of Ultron. But its no longer seen as a risk for Marvel Studios, and fans are becoming more and more interested in the title as its release grows nearer. That excitement should triple once the first trailer hits, which will be very soon. The only question is when and where will we see it first?

The Alberta Films Rating board has confirmed that they received the finished trailer, and they have rated it PG. The teaser runs exactly 1 minute and 48 seconds, which is 20 seconds longer than the recent Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer. »

DVD Review: 'God's Pocket'

22 December 2014 1:38 AM, PST | CineVue | See recent CineVue news »

★★★☆☆The feature debut from Mad Men's John Slattery (who plays the wonderfully urbane Roger Sterling in the hit AMC show), God's Pocket (2013) may not share the same air of sophistication as the stylish ad industry ratings winner, but this sleazy tale of small town Joes and two-bit hustlers is easily pulled through by its impressive ensemble cast. For his first film, Slattery calls on the talents of Mad Men co-star Christina Hendricks, the sorely missed Philip Seymour Hoffman (in his penultimate role), the always excellent Richard Jenkins and John Turturro, alongside a host of other familiar faces. Though missteps are made, Slattery strikes an effective balance between black comedy and noirish morbidity.

Rumour: Possible Details On How Ant-man Will Connect To The McU Revealed

20 December 2014 9:30 AM, PST | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

Marvel's Ant-Man is perhaps Marvel Studios' most interesting project at the moment. We know very little about it other than a basic synopsis, but more importantly we know even less about how it will fit into the larger McU. We've heard about cameos from Hayley Atwell and John Slattery as Peggy Carter and Howard Stark, but beyond that nothing. Well, this rumour I recently came across should shed some light on how Ant-Man will factor into the McU in future movies. Before we continue, be sure to take this all with a Ton of salt. The website isn't necessarily the most reputable, but let’s, for now, give them the benefit of the doubt. According to StarLog, Hank Pym will not only come across Howard Stark and Peggy Carter in the 60s flashback scenes. Supposedly he will also encounter 'a young military hot-head by the name of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross', »

Wahlberg said that Ted won't like that John has a new woman in his life, but has bigger things to deal with. First Photo from Ted 2 with Mark Wahlberg and His Bear

19 December 2014 8:45 AM, PST | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

The first official photo from Seth MacFarlane's Ted 2 is out, and it features Mark Wahlberg and his stuffed bear getting ready to do a little deep sea diving. Not sure why, but Ted's got a shovel, so they are obviously going down to look for something.

All we know about the story at this point is that it will focus on Ted fighting in court for the right to have a child with his human girlfriend. Morgan Freeman plays a legendary civil rights lawyer who helps him out.

Amanda Seyfried co-stars in the movie, and Liam Neeson and John Slattery will have small roles. The movie hits theaters on June 26th, 2015. I thought the first film was hilarious, and I'm hoping that the sequel will be even funnier.

Thanks to EW for the image. »

A Million Ways to Die in the West and the 2013 Oscar Ceremony taught us that people don't want to see Seth MacFarlane; they just want to hear him.  Ted is one of the most successful R-rated comedies of all-time, and now we have the first Ted 2 image.  We still don't know much what John (Mark Wahlberg) and Ted will be up to in the sequel other than part of the movie will take place at Comic-Con, Ted will need a civil rights lawyer (played by Morgan Freeman), and Amanda Seyfried has replaced Mila Kunis as the female lead.  Also, MacFarlane tells EW that there won't be any new talking creatures in the sequel.  "It's basically the way we treated Stewie in Family Guy,'' says MacFarlane. ''He's the only one of his kind who can talk.'' Hit the jump to check out the new Ted 2 image.  The »

Ant-Man's leading lady, Evangeline Lilly, did an interview with CNN to talk about her latest film The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, which she was incredible in. "I've been astounded to discover how good to their teams and crew that Marvel are. They're so collaborative, so smart with their stories. They have rich, dynamic characters which are so much fun to play. I expected I'd be a cog in the wheel of a big machine -- I wasn't sure I'd like this experience. Christina Hendricks Joins Showtime’s Roadies

17 December 2014 5:48 AM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

It looks like Christina Hendricks is dealing with her departure from Sterling Cooper & Partners by hitting the road. According to multiple sources, the Mad Men actress has joined the main cast of Roadies, a music-centric comedy created, written and to be directed by Jerry Maguire helmer Cameron Crowe for premium cable network Showtime.

Roadies follows the day-to-day life of individuals involved in a massively successful rock tour, as seen through the eyes of music’s unsung heroes – the crew members who make each show happen. Hendricks will take on the meaty role of Shelli, the band’s production manager, who is ““ingenious, tough, but privately emotional, married to her job… and scary-good at it.”

Luke Wilson, Imogen Poots, Rafe Spall, Peter Cambor and Keisha Castle-Hughes are also on board the ensemble series in main roles, but Hendricks’ involvement just makes us more excited for what’s sure to be a »

Evangeline Lilly says Ant-Man is in ‘good hands’ with Peyton Reed

16 December 2014 12:47 PM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Marvel’s Ant-Man got off to a rough start when original director Edgar Wright, who was working on the project from 2006, left over creative differences. Since his departure Peyton Reed took over and now in an interview with IGN to promote The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, star Evangeline Lilly has Peyton Reed as the new director:

“He was a delight. He actually in some ways reminded me a bit of Peter [Jackson],” she said “He had a fantastic sense of humour, was extremely immersed in the comic world all his life, is a big fan-boy but also extremely strong in his vision. He knew what he needed, and he knew if we had it or if we didn’t have it, and it’s such a huge luxury as an actor to know that your director really knows what he wants. He knows when he’s got it »

'Flash' Casts 'Mad Men' Star as Captain Cold's Sister

16 December 2014 12:15 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

The Flash has added yet another DC Comics character for Season 1, with Peyton List signing on to play Lisa Snart in The CW show's 16th episode, entitled "Rogue Time". Lisa Snart is the sister of Wentworth Miller's Leonard Snart, a.k.a. Captain Cold. In the DC Comics, Lisa Snart eventually became one of the Rogues with her brother, transforming into the villainous character known as The Golden Glider.

While Leonard is a cold and calculating villain, Lisa is much more of a wild card, determined to show Leonard that she has what it takes to be one of the Rogues. Lisa is described as "sly, charming, and even a little sadistic," who isn't afraid to use her sexuality to get what she wants. Her alluring nature will reportedly "put her on a crash course" with S.T.A.R. Labs employee Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes).

SAG Nominations: Biggest Snubs and Surprises

10 December 2014 8:15 AM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

The Screen Actors Guild nominations are often a sign of who will be invited to the Oscars, since actors constitute the largest group of Academy voters. After Wednesday morning’s nomination announcement, that could mean good news for “Birdman” (which picked up four noms, more than any other film), Jake Gyllenhaal (“Nightcrawler”), and Jennifer Aniston (“Cake”), and not great news for Jessica Chastain (overlooked for “A Most Violent Year”) and “Selma” (Paramount didn’t send out screeners in time). On the TV side, the nominees don’t necessarily create momentum for the Emmys, but they can’t hurt in building buzz for freshman shows like Showtime’s “The Affair” and Cinemax’s “The Knick,” which were shut out. Here are the biggest snubs and surprises in both TV and film.

Marvel's 'Ant-Man' Wraps Production

Just hours after Ant-Man director Peyton Reed announced that Paul Rudd has completed shooting, the filmmaker revealed that principal photography has wrapped on the Marvel Phase Two adventure. You may recall that producer Kevin Feige revealed during the studio's press event in late October that Ant-Man is now the final movie of Phase Two, instead of the first Phase Three project as initially planned. It remains to be seen if Ant-Man will include some sort of tie-in to the highly-anticipated Captain America: Civil War, the first of nine movies that will be included in Phase Three.

Michael Douglas and Paul Rudd star as scientist Hank Pym and master thief Scott Lang in Ant-Man, who join forces to pull off an elaborate heist that will save the world.
