Andrew Lincoln Was Shocked By Old Man Rick Twist In The Walking Dead Season 8

Fans went wild after The Walking Dead‘s season 8 trailer, first released at Comic-Con, dropped an unexpected twist in its final moments. Dubbed the “Old Man Rick” scene, the preview ended with a glimpse at a greying, bearded, bedridden Rick, seemingly a flash-forward to some point in the character’s future.

It turns out that we weren’t the only ones surprised by the scene, as star Andrew Lincoln was also shocked when he discovered that Old Man Rick was coming to the show. He spoke about the sequence to EW during a recent interview and in doing so, potentially gave us a clue as to its meaning:

I was shocked and kind of excited by it. My instinct was, what a great storytelling device. That was my instinct. I thought it was very interesting, and also gives us an opportunity to do something else a little ahead of the game, »

The Walking Dead Season 8 Premiere Will Have Tons Of Easter Eggs For Fans

28 August 2017 4:19 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

It’s fair to say that The Walking Dead‘s seventh season was the most controversial run of the smash-hit post-apocalyptic drama to date. Though it still has its supporters, the shocking opening episode and the slow, protracted pace of the rest of the season rubbed many people the wrong way. The final few episodes ramped up the interest again, however, by positioning the people of Alexandria, the Kingdom and Hilltop against Negan and his Saviors.

For season 8, then, things are sure to get a whole lot more action-packed and dramatic. While that’s certainly exciting, those are far from the only reasons why we’re looking forward to the show’s return. Among many other things, there’s also the fact that this year, The Walking Dead will celebrate 100 episodes, and to mark the occasion, AMC is sticking some fun easter eggs into the premiere for fans to pick up on. »

AMC Announces The Walking Dead Season 8 Preview Special

27 August 2017 3:09 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

October 22nd isn’t that far away now, but fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead are beyond eager to get a look at season 8. That 5 minute Comic-Con trailer really whet our appetite and as more and more information comes to light on what the show will be bringing us this year, it’s getting harder to sit tight and wait for Rick Grimes and co. to return to our screens.

Thankfully, then, the network is here to make things a bit easier on us, as they’ve now announced that they’ll be airing an hour long preview special on September 10th at 8pm Est. For those keeping track, that’s also the same day as the season 3B premiere of Fear the Walking Dead. Suffice it to say, it’ll be a good night for fans of Robert Kirkman’s zombie universe.

The Walking Dead: Michael Cudlitz Open To Returning As Abraham

25 August 2017 8:43 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan is a force to be reckoned with.

He’s a sadist, an unhinged psychopath, and a calculating leader; but he’s also one of the more compelling villains that The Walking Dead has seen in years. First introduced at the tail-end of season 6, Negan arguably hit his stride during the somewhat contentious “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be,” when he lined up Rick and his ragtag crew before brutally executing Glenn and Abraham.

It was a heartbreaking moment for Twd fans around the world, but it might not necessarily be the end of those two aforementioned characters. We’ve already heard that Steven Yeun, who played Glenn, would be open to a return in the future and now Michael Cudlitz, who portrayed Abraham, has said the same.

The Walking Dead Season 8 Will Kill Off A Few More Characters

That’s because there won’t be any letting up at all once season 8 kicks off, as we’ve now learned that The Walking Dead will “thin the herd” this year. »

The Walking Dead Season 8 Will Bring A Sense Of Closure To The War Against Negan

1 August 2017 7:49 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

For the past two years, The Walking Dead has managed to keep its impassioned viewers on tenterhooks by fanning the flames of a war between Negan, his Saviors and our ragtag survivors.

Having brought together the communities of Hilltop and the Kingdom, Rick Grimes and the gang are ready to mount a full-frontal assault against Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s bat-wielding maniac, who has arguably become one of the show’s more memorable villains ever since his introduction in the season 6 finale, “Last Day On Earth.”

Much has changed since that fateful encounter, but at least according to PollyAnna McIntosh (Jadis), The Walking Dead‘s eighth season will bring a sense of closure to that long-brewing conflict. While discussing her upcoming role in Middle-earth: Shadow of War to ComicBook.com – for the record, she’ll play the mystical Shelob in Monolith’s video game sequel – McIntosh hinted at all of the »

The Walking Dead Season 8 Premiere Will Explain The Old Man Rick Scene

29 July 2017 6:47 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Just over a week ago, AMC nearly broke the internet when they released the very first trailer for season 8 of The Walking Dead. Giving us an extended look at the upcoming batch of episodes, there was lots to discuss and dissect, and while we’ve been doing just that, there’s still one moment in particular which has many people confused, and that’s what’s being referred to as the Old Man Rick scene.

At the end of the trailer, we’re shown a walking stick and a vase of flowers in what looks to be a white, sunlit room, possibly in a hospital. It’s then revealed that the patient lying in bed is Rick Grimes, now with greying hair and a beard like he’s taking grooming tips from Hugh Jackman in Logan

Naturally, this has fans speculating. Due to its similarity to the opening scenes of »
