After spending his teenage years as an actor, Stuffy found his calling in the world of sports. He won the Los Angeles city tennis tournament, was ranked nationally in table tennis, was an all-league football quarterback, and had become a pro baseball player at 19. At 19, he learned to play handball and decided that was his sport. After winning the southern California title within two years, he advanced to win the national singles title at 26. Although he had to deal with injuries throughout his career, he is regarded as one of the all-time greats.

April 1957 - Semi-finalist in the Junior Doubles division of the Table Tennis National Tournament in South Bend, Indiana.
1996 - Inducted into the SCHA Handball Hall of Fame.
In recent years, he has worked as a tax consultant in Encino, California.
Inducted into The United States Handball association Hall of Fame in 1994.
Inducted into the California table tennis Hall of Fame in 2015.
