Westworld Season 2 Probably Won’t Have Multiple Timelines

28 March 2017 5:29 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Almost right from the start, HBO’s Westworld had viewers hooked. Whether it was the intriguing premise, the brilliant writing or the fantastic performances – not to mention all the sex and violence – there was a lot to love about the new sci-fi show. But perhaps what kept people coming back most was the shocking twists and turns, and all the fun everyone had in trying to keep up with them.

One of the best twists, despite some people figuring it out ahead of time, was the multiple timelines. Of course, we’re referring to how the show gave us two different versions of William, one played by Jimmi Simpson in the past and the other portrayed by Ed Harris in the present day. While Westworld was running through its first season, fan theories pointed to both characters being the same person, and by the finale, it was revealed that yes, »

‘Westworld’: Stars, Producers Talk Season One Surprises at PaleyFest

26 March 2017 7:07 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Fans of HBO’s “Westworld” weren’t the only ones fascinated by the show’s continuous twists and turns. During Saturday’s PaleyFest session at the Dolby Theater, stars of the fantasy drama revealed that they were kept in the dark throughout the production process on season one.

Ed Harris, who plays the mysterious Man in Black, got a big surprise early in during filming.

“I walked by my trailer and someone told me that Jimmi (Simpson) was the guy playing the younger me and I was like, ‘What?’ ” said Harris.

Evan Rachel Wood, who plays Dolores, had just as much fun as many fans guessing what potential storylines for rest of the season would be.

“One of my theories was that Arnold was at the center of the maze or that all of our human versions were going to be locked in there! I didn’t know Bernard was a host when we were doing our »

‘Westworld’: Thandie Newton Rules PaleyFest Panel as Showrunners Confirm One Major Theory

25 March 2017 11:54 PM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

“Just fucking stonewall them. Nothing!”

These were the words of encouragement that “Westworld” executive producer Jonathan Nolan issued to co-showrunner Lisa Joy on stage Saturday night at the show’s PaleyFest panel, as the duo fought off a wide array of questions about Season 2. While he maintained the Nolan family mandate of secrecy at all costs, Joy was tempted time and time again to reveal show secrets — but to no avail.

“We’re writing right now, and we’re terribly excited about what we’re writing,” Nolan said, noting they would have all the episodes written before shooting begins. “Reddit has already figured it out. So, the third episode twist, we’re changing that.”

During the panel (which also featured executive producer Roberto Patino, and cast members Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Ed Harris, Thandie Newton, and Jimmi Simpson), the creators and cast were peppered with questions about suspicions connected to Season 1 — Dr. »

Talulah Riley Bumped Up To Series Regular Ahead Of Westworld Season 2

23 March 2017 2:35 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

It seems Angela has impressed the Powers That Be over at Delos.

Deadline is reporting that Talulah Riley has been bumped up to a series regular in anticipation of Westworld season 2, which is expected to air via HBO sometime next year. Neither Deadline nor HBO offered up any further details to accompany the announcement, but it does essentially confirm that Riley’s enigmatic Host will enjoy more screentime come 2018.

Without delving into spoilers, Talulah Riley’s impossibly attractive synthetic was introduced early on in Westworld‘s first season, when she lent a helping hand to Jimmi Simpson’s William as he took his first steps onto Robert Ford’s prized creation. From there, Angela’s narrative became intertwined with that of the Man in Black and, by the time Westworld reached its grisly finale – these violent delights have violent ends, remember – her Host was heavily involved in the bloody events »

Emmy Predictions 2017: Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series

23 March 2017 2:00 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Last Year’s Winner: Ben Mendelsohn, “Bloodline

Still Eligible: No.

Hot Streak: While a number of actors have won this category twice, we haven’t seen a repeat victor since Ray Walston won for “Picket Fences” in 1995 and 1996. That streak will continue at least one more year, given last year’s winner is ineligible in 2017.

Fun Fact: “The West Wing” won this category four times with four different actors: Richard Schiff (2000), Bradley Whitford (2001), John Spencer (2002), and Alan Alda (2006).

With “Game of Thrones” ineligible, this field is wide open. Only three of last year’s six nominees are eligible to earn another nomination in 2017 — Jonathan Banks (“Better Call Saul”), Michael Kelly (“House of Cards”), and Jon Voight (“Ray Donovan”) — meaning even if all three get back in, we’re going to see some new blood this year…

22 March 2017 2:23 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Though it’s still in search of an official title at the time of writing – Unsolved: The Murders of Biggie and Tupac is the current working one – USA Network’s true-life crime drama Unsolved is beginning to beef up its ensemble cast.

Four weeks ago, we brought you the news that Josh Duhamel (Transformers: The Last Knight), Bokeem Woodbine (Spider-Man: Homecoming) and Westworld‘s Jimmi Simpson had all signed on, and now, Deadline is reporting that the network has added another three: Luke James, Aisha Hinds and Letoya Luckett (Ballers).

From today’s report, it’s understood James has closed a deal to play Sean “Puffy” Combs (Aka Puff Diddy), the “young and wildly successful founder of Bad Boy Records, the label of Christopher Wallace.” Hinds, meanwhile, has climbed aboard to play the coveted part of Wallace’s grieving mother, Voletta Wallace, who became a vocal campaigner for justice »

Jimmi Simpson on his possible return for Westworld's second season

I wasn't exactly sure what to expect from HBO's Westworld, especially with the delays leading up to its release, but the final product managed to blow me away on a weekly basis and definitely left me hungry for more. Jimmi Simpson Discusses Possible Return For ‘Westworld’ Season 2

8 March 2017 3:30 PM, PST | Slash Film | See recent Slash Film news »

Westworld was one of the things I loved most 2016, a remarkable, weird, and so very smart science fiction series that managed to be about running a futuristic robot theme park and the evolving nature of interactive entertainment and philosophizing about man’s inhumanity to man. We know that a second season is on the way, but we also know that it […]

Jimmi Simpson May Not Return For Westworld Season 2

7 March 2017 8:24 PM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Without a doubt, Westworld was one of the very best things of 2016 – at least, as far as television goes. Few shows were able to top its brilliant writing, compelling plots and fascinating characters, not to mention all the shocking twists and turns it threw at us along the way. While the sci-fi western won’t be back on our screens until 2018, there’s a lot to look forward to once it returns, as even though HBO gave us a very satisfying season finale, it was also one that left a lot of loose ends.

Perhaps the biggest question on people’s minds is what’s going to become of Jimmi Simpson’s character, William. Given that his arc seemed all tied up by the end of the last episode – when the two timelines twist was revealed – it’s uncertain how exactly he may factor into things going forward. That’s »

Unsolved: Tupac And Biggie Have Been Cast!

6 March 2017 5:34 PM, PST | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

USA has come up with a show, similar to Making a Murderer or American Crime Story: The People V. Oj Simpson, where they will explore unexplained deaths; a scripted true crime series. Unsolved, at least in the first season, will focus on the deaths of the great Tupac and Biggie Smalls. This hits home to me as I was affected by Tupac's death immensely. I never listened to Biggie until years later, and at that point I realized how tragic of a loss these two performers were.

It is still unclear who actually committed the murders of these two individuals, even though we Know -- we have no proof, and USA intends on exploring this.

Who will actually portray these roles is the big question that was answered today.

Marcc Rose will reprise the role he played as Tupac in Straight Outta Compton, and what a great pick this is. »
