- 2016: David is co-creating a new sitcom with actor/writer Paul Reiser about the behind the scenes world of The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson set in 1972. Paul and David have the exclusive rights to the entire 30 year library. An industry first. They are partnered with Carson Productions head Jeff Sotzig.
- David has a new play (his first) Grave Doubts: A new comedy full of plot holes that will debut in New York City. His poetry blog and essays (many from Huffington Post) can be found at Thehollywoodragepage.blogspot.com.
- David was the on-air television expert for New York City's NPR station WFUV.
- David's manager and producing partners are Irene Dreayer and Ken Gross.
- David's first comedy short for his company The Wit Protection Program was "That's News To Me" starring Caroline Ray and Jay Potter. It played in festivals all over the world.
- David co-created The Wayans Brothers sitcom with Shawn and Marlon Wayans and Leslie Ray. He co-created and co-wrote There's Johnny with Paul Reiser which is streaming on Peacock.
- David began his career with three overall studio deals at Disney, Universal and Columbia. He allied with Michael Jacobs and wrote on Charles in Charge, Together We Stand and My Two Dads.
- David wrote all of Smokey Robinson's original material when Smoey hosted The Rhythm and Blues Foundation Awards Dinner for two consecutive years.
- Actress Tracy Brooks Swope Avildsen won the 2015 Best Supporting Actress Trophy at New York City's prestigious Sofie Awards for her role as Tippy in Dante and Beatrice: A Family Film. Tracy's real life daughter Bridget plays the lead role. Trivia: David, Tracy and actor Terry Greiss (also in the film) went to the High School of the Performing Arts in Manhattan. Also nominated for the film in the category of Best Supporting Actor was Sean Weill.

- David received positive reviews for his film Dante and Beatrice from Woody Allen, Paul Reiser and Alan Zweibel.
