In an emotional and honest interview with ABC News, Christina Applegate and Jamie-Lynn Sigler open up about living with multiple sclerosis, with the former star of Netflix’s Dead to Me revealing she has likely had the chronic central nervous system disease for six or seven years before she was diagnosed.
Applegate, 52, and Sigler, 42, spoke with Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts about their Ms diagnoses and living with the incurable disease in a segment that aired Wednesday morning. Applegate initially decided to get checked for Ms when she noticed her toes tingling while filming the Netflix series’ final season and was diagnosed in 2021. But she revealed to Roberts that the symptoms were there for years.
“I probably had it for six or seven years, I think,” Applegate says. “I noticed, especially the first season [of Dead to Me], we’d be shooting and my leg would buckle. I really just...

Christina Applegate revealed she was likely living with multiple sclerosis for years before she was diagnosed in a new interview with Good Morning America. The segment marked the actress’ first time talking about the autoimmune disease on TV since she was diagnosed in 2021.
“I probably had it for six or seven years, I think,” Applegate said. “I noticed, especially the first season [of the Netflix series Dead to Me], we’d be shooting, and my leg would buckle. I really just put it off as being tired, or I’m dehydrated, or it’s the weather.

Christina Applegate is opening up about living with multiple sclerosis on “Good Morning America” in her first on-camera sit-down interview following her 2021 diagnosis.
“I live kind of in hell,” Applegate told host Robin Roberts. “I’m not out a lot, so this is a little difficult, just for my system. But of course, the support is wonderful and I’m really grateful.”
Applegate participated in the interview — which aired in full on Wednesday — alongside “The Sopranos” star Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who has been living with Ms since she was 20 years old. The two were promoting their new podcast, “MeSsy,” which debuts March 19.
“I’m never going to wake up and go, ‘This is awesome.’ I’m just going to tell you that. Like, it’s not going to happen,” she continued. “I wake up and I’m reminded of it every day … But I might get to a place where I function a little bit better.

Robin Roberts told her Good Morning America co-star “Not a chance” during a wild TV segment that included their colleagues.
After missing GMA in New York last week, Roberts returned to the studio for episodes on Monday and Tuesday.
Her co-anchor, Michael Strahan, was out both days, likely due to spending time with family or other significant events.
However, Roberts and Strahan appeared together in a recent piece of movie magic for viewers.
With the Oscars this past weekend, it also meant Oscars afterparties, and GMA was part of the festivities.
The group participated in a crazy, fun spoof of one of the top award contenders throughout the 2024 awards season.

The Sopranos is based on the real-life DeCavalcante crime family, which operated in New Jersey and was considered the "Sixth Family" of the Italian mafia on the East Coast. Tony Soprano, the main character, was patterned after Vincent "Vinny Ocean" Palmero, the head of the DeCavalcante crime family. They shared similarities in their businesses and relationships with their nephews. The illegal activities portrayed in The Sopranos, such as bookmaking, drug trafficking, and murder, were inspired by the real-life activities of the DeCavalcante crime family, including waste management violations and construction zoning violations. Tony Soprano's family life also mirrors Vincent Palmero's, with both being protective and dedicated to their families.

The Sopranos creator David Chase dashes hopes of a future show revival. Chase's recent interview reveals there are no plans for another Sopranos comeback. Fans' anticipation for more Sopranos content is crushed as Chase firmly states that the prequel film is the only extension of the iconic gangster series.
The Sopranos creator David Chase gives an unfortunate update about the show's future. HBO’s iconic gangster series ended in 2007 with one of TV history’s most famous, and famously divisive, cuts to black. Against all odds, the world of The Sopranos made a comeback in 2021 with the release of The Many Saints of Newark, a prequel film bringing back younger versions of several of the show’s main characters, including Tony Soprano himself.

Robert Patrick admits that James Gandolfini was the most intimidating actor he worked with, even more so than action stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger and John Cena. Patrick recalls a scene in The Sopranos where Gandolfini's intensity made him fear for his safety, and the experience was similar to working with Alan Ritchson in Reacher. Despite being known for playing tough guys, Patrick enjoys playing good guys and appreciates the opportunity to go against type in roles like that of Davey Scatino in The Sopranos.
Robert Patrick should be taking things a little easier as a 65-year-old, but he hasn’t given up his tough guy ways just yet. Although he is often seen playing bad guys with a penchant for violence, as he does once again in season two of Prime Video’s Reacher, there is one person he played opposite that terrified him more than any of the man-mountain...

On the night of June 10, 2007, every HBO subscriber panicked. "Did my cable connection just die?" many viewers surely wondered while watching The Sopranos finale. A loose cable cord or an inopportune widespread power outage appeared to be the only explanation behind the most controversial ending in television history. Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) is sharing a plate of onion rings with his wife, Carmela (Edie Falco), and his son, A.J. (Robert Iler). After struggling to parallel park, his daughter, Meadow (Jamie-Lynn Sigler), rushes inside the diner, Holsten's, where the Soprano family converges. As Journey's power ballad, "Don't Stop Believin'" roars during its closing chorus, the screen cuts to black--just as Tony looks up to see Meadow walking through the door. Just like that, The Sopranos concluded, but the discourse and speculation surrounding this ending has not waned.

The creator of The Sopranos, David Chase, thinks the industry's modern age is like a "funeral," citing the need to "dumb it down" for recent projects and the rise of streaming and multitasking. Chase believes audiences can't keep their attention on things anymore and that writers and creatives must work harder to engage viewers. While some argue that great TV is still alive, Chase describes the so-called "Golden Age of Television" as a fleeting moment.

As is said with JFK, no American will ever forget where they were, or what they were doing, when Tony Soprano was shot in the series finale of The Sopranos. Recall is easier in the case of Tony, as every single witness was doing exactly the same thing at the time of his assassination: getting ready to kick their TVs into a million pieces.
The strange thing is that little of the raw emotion stirred up by the finale was connected with the actual assassination of Tony Soprano. Hardly anyone flinched, raged, gasped, or wept for the terminated mafioso. Do you know why? Because hardly anyone – myself included – even knew that it had happened. Over a million witnesses to a murder, and not one of them could give a credible statement or offer reliable testimony. Now that, my friends, is the definition of a perfect mafia hit.
It begs the question,...

The classic show “The Sopranos” began its life on HBO on January 10, 1999, single handedly launching the Golden Age of Cable Drama. It’s difficult to recall now, but when the show premiered, HBO was not yet HBO, and original programming outside of network primetime was still in its infancy. Creator David Chase crafted a series at once dark and comedic, violent and emotionally vibrant. It introduced the world to entertainment’s ultimate antihero in Italian-American mob boss Tony Soprano, played with power, pathos and perturbation by James Gandolfini. Beset by depression and panic attacks, he showed us what “The Godfather” never did: a gangster in therapy, regularly visiting the office of New Jersey psychotherapist Dr. Jennifer Melfi (Lorraine Bracco) to download his many troubles and come to terms with a toxic mother Livia (Nancy Marchand). Tony’s long-suffering wife Carmela (pitch-perfect work from Edie Falco) and precocious daughter Meadow (Jamie-Lynn Sigler) completed his female-surrounding quartet.

James Gandolfini’s performance as Tony Soprano on HBO’s “The Sopranos” is often cited as some of the best acting in TV history, but co-star Jamie-Lynn Sigler recently revealed that Gandolfini often questioned himself on the set of the Emmy-winning drama series. Sigler played Tony’s daughter, Meadow, on the show, which ran for six seasons and 86 episodes between 1999 and 2007.
“Jim was the type of scene partner where it felt like he was there and his only intention was to make me as good as I could be,” Sigler recalled on a recent episode of Michael Rosenbaum’s “Inside of You” podcast (via Entertainment Weekly). “And it had nothing to do with him. Every time I worked with him, I felt like his sole purpose was… ‘I’m going to help you give your best fucking take, Jamie.'”
“It had nothing to do with his confidence,” Sigler continued.

Iler criticized the lack of originality, claiming Top Gun: Maverick was a disappointment even though it received positive reviews and an Oscar. Despite the widespread acclaim and commercial success of Top Gun: Maverick, Iler believes the blockbuster sequel is garbage.
“Top Gun f—ing sucked d—!” Those are the exact words that The Sopranos’ actor Rob Iler used to described Tom Cruise’s second go-round as the character of Pete Mitchell in Top Gun: Maverick. Iler thought the sequel to 1986’s Top Gun was less than impressive, especially having been nominated for six Academy Awards. Iler said during the Not Today, Pal podcast:
“I think Top Gun [Maverick] ruined the whole movie industry. No, no, no, I think it ruined everything. It'll save it for four or...

After a 21-month run that saw him perform for more than 700,000 fans, the promise of Tom Segura’s “I’m Coming Everywhere” world tour has finally been fulfilled.
If you’re wondering if this long haul was a test of endurance for the globally popular stand-up comic, who has been working the circuit for nearly 20 years, the answer is an unqualified yes. “I mean, I’ve said it, but…I signed up for too much, so it felt really good to get to the end,” Segura says with a laugh. “I very vividly remember the last few shows counting down and being like, ‘I can’t believe this is finally coming to an end.’ But, you know, it’s 21 months and like 303 shows. It was just outrageous.”
The fruits of his labor are on display in Tom Segura: Sledgehammer, the first of two specials emerging from a 2022 deal with Netflix,...

In May 2021, after 19 years in Los Angeles, comedians and married couple Tom Segura and Christina Pazsitzky (aka Christina P), moved to Austin with their two young sons. Segura says he felt like L.A., in mid-pandemic, was falling apart. “I was like, ‘This city is turning into a shit show!'” he tells Variety.
About one month after they moved, Pazsitzky suffered an injurious fall in their new home. And, as you might expect, Segura ended up turning the (non-life-threatening) accident into a bit, which is featured in “Tom Segura: Sledgehammer,” his upcoming stand-up special premiering July 4 globally on Netflix.
In “Sledgehammer,” Segura recounts his uneasy 911 call that night requesting help. “I realized that, while what I’m about to say it true, it sounds… suspicious! But I gotta say it. So I’m like, ‘My wife fell down the stairs.'” Pazsitzky, who had misjudged a step when she...

Some time ago, comedian Tom Segura teased on his Ymh Studios podcasts that he’d decided to self-finance and shoot a mystery video project, with further details to be disclosed at a later date. And at long last, they’re beginning to emerge, as Segura has disclosed to Deadline his sale to a streaming service of a pilot in which he’ll star.
“We…produced a pilot that we sold to one of the streamers…We financed it, we produced it, wrote it,” Segura shared during a Zoom call late last week. “This was a hundred percent like the podcast way of thinking, which was like, ‘Just make the thing.’ So we just made it, spent a fortune doing it, but I think for the right reasons. And I think they’ll probably make an announcement about it soon, maybe when the strike resolves. But we’re very excited about it,...

When philanthropist and jewelry designer Nancy Davis founded Race to Erase Ms 30 years ago, the medical world was grappling with limited solutions for those affected by multiple sclerosis, the chronic neurological disease in which immune system cells attack myelin (protective sheaths) in the central nervous system.
Two years earlier, in 1991, Davis refused to accept the bleak prognosis handed to her at the age of 33 when she herself was diagnosed with Ms. “They [doctors] told me I should just go home and go to bed. There were a lot of hocus-pocus remedies like bee stings — pretty crazy things that were not going to help you. It was quite scary and terrifying. I obviously did not listen.”
Two years later, she founded the Race to Erase Ms, which in three decades has raised more than $50 million to fund critical research on multiple sclerosis, which is estimated to affect nearly one million people in the United States.

ABC has axed Big Sky. Deadline reports that the show has been officially canceled after three seasons with no plans to develop a season 4. The show is one of three to be axed by the network on Friday, joining Alaska Daily and The Company You Keep. As of now, there's no word on whether the producers plan on shopping the series elsewhere for a potential pickup. However, there was reportedly a pitch for a potential fourth season that was described as a "creative reboot" which would have had more direct involvement from creator David E. Kelley.
Per the new report, it's believed that falling ratings are the primary reason behind Big Sky getting the boot. The third season is said to have been among the lowest of the TV season for ABC's scripted content. Making matters worse were rumors of on-set drama and "challenging economics" involved with developing a drama show's fourth season.

HBO Max is going beneath the sheets for a new drama based on the life and times of Heidi Fleiss, the infamous and former ‘Hollywood Madam’ who ran a prostitution ring with a high-profile clientele. Maggie Cohn (The Staircase) is writing and executive producing the Heidi Fleiss drama for HBO Max, with Fleiss consulting.
